So my sisters middle daughter’s name is [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]. We’re currently pregnant with baby #4 and currently team green but we both can only fully agree on [name_f]Kolbie[/name_f]. We thought if changing the colbie to [name_f]Kolbie[/name_f] would maybe help differentiate them from each other. I just hope my sister doesn’t take offense. And we aren’t finding out the sex til birth and don’t want to share any names until we have it. So my question is, are they too similar? We live in the same town and mostly hang out over the summer due to no school and stuff, but throughout the year itself, it’s here and there. I’m just afraid my mom and sister will gang up on me. TIA!
I like it, but prefer [name_u]Colbie[/name_u].
I don’t think they’re too similar for cousins! [name_m]Even[/name_m] [name_u]Colbie[/name_u] with a C doesn’t seem too similar. If they were sisters it would be too close, but I think it’s fine for cousins, even if they see each other a lot.
I agree with @EagleEyes–too close for sisters, but not for cousins! I don’t think the spelling makes much difference so I’d stick with whichever you prefer
I don’t think they’re too similar
I personally don’t think that [name_u]Colbie[/name_u] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] sound or look too similar. I feel that if they were sisters it would seem a lot more similar but not for cousins! [name_u]Colbie[/name_u] is a sweet name, don’t be discouraged to use it if you love it. I personally prefer the C spelling but that is completely up to you.
Thank you all! I do prefer the C spelling as well.
I dont think they are too similar! I love K its such a pretty letter and the [name_f]Kolbie[/name_f] spelling reduces its similarity to the cheese so I prefer it over [name_u]Colbie[/name_u]. Very cute!
I don’t think they are too similar for cousins. [name_u]Colbie[/name_u]/Kolbie has the distinct “b” which makes it look and sound different than [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], so I think it’s fine.
I agree that for [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] the emphasis is in the beginning and for [name_f]Kolbie[/name_f] the emphasis is on the b. So I don’t think they’re too similar.
I don’t think they’re too similar, and I don’t think changing the spelling changes anything.
I don’t think they’re too similar! I would personally prefer [name_u]Colbie[/name_u]! The C looks softer and more feminine to me!
