Chloe yay or nay

I’m reconsidering [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]. Its DH top pick. Originally I found it cute…but not special. But why is that? It doesnt actually seem too common now a days and on paper is perfect. What do you think? I’m not saying “convince me”…but why am I not dazzled by it? Any similar ideas?

Others we like but dont work (warning I’m picky!)-

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] (know a clare)
[name_f]Clea[/name_f] (ok…but made up ish?)
[name_f]Calia[/name_f] (too many diff pronounciations)
[name_f]Clio[/name_f] (hubby hates)
[name_f]Calla[/name_f] (too hard to say)
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] (ok…but the coooo sound isnt my fav)
[name_f]Carrie[/name_f]/Carys (reminds me of [name_f]Karen[/name_f])

This is my feeling on [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], if I’m honest. However, it’s very pretty and you’re right — not too common any more. The meaning of “new green shoot” is adorable as well :seedling:

[name_f]Clea[/name_f] feels like a good alternative and not made up at all! It’s a very old Greek name.

Maybe [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], [name_u]Camille[/name_u] or [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]? [name_u]Or[/name_u] if the C isn’t obligatory, perhaps [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] or [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]?

I quite like it. Although it’s very 90s vibe for me. Not necessarily a bad thing.

It might be the -ee sound at the end coupled with it being short that makes it seem trendy, and, yes, cute. That’s not a bad thing.

What about:
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]
[name_u]Callum[/name_u]
[name_u]Cameron[/name_u]
[name_u]Callahan[/name_u] nn [name_f]Calla[/name_f] which is on your list (I don’t think it’s too hard to say)
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Carly[/name_f]
[name_u]Carmen[/name_u]
[name_u]Carson[/name_u]
[name_u]Cadence[/name_u]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] (CeCe)
[name_u]Channing[/name_u]
[name_f]Clarice[/name_f]
[name_f]Ciara[/name_f]/Sierra
[name_f]Corrine[/name_f]
[name_u]Courtney[/name_u]

Hope this helps!

Chloe is really sweet!! There doesn’t seem to be many new [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]’s born to be honest, they all seem to be around my age or older.

Clara- is really nice!! Classic and sweet
[name_f]Clea[/name_f]- is so cute! snappy, but still feminine. I really like it!
[name_f]Calia[/name_f]- how are you pronouncing it? I would instinctively go for cah-lay-uh
[name_f]Clio[/name_f]- nice!!
[name_f]Calla[/name_f]- i really like [name_f]Calla[/name_f]!! sounds so pretty, and looks nice written down as well!
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]- not my favourite, but it could be because it just sounds sooo harsh in my accent.
[name_f]Carrie[/name_f]- oh I love [name_f]Carrie[/name_f]! it’s so old-fashioned and sweet.
[name_f]Carys[/name_f]- really nice!!! my favourite spelling! If it reminds you of [name_f]Karen[/name_f] too much, you could go for [name_f]Cerys[/name_f], which has a slightly different sound (in my accent at least)

some other sweet C names - [name_f]Camellia[/name_f], [name_f]Carly[/name_f], [name_f]Cate[/name_f], [name_f]Cady[/name_f], [name_f]Celia[/name_f].

I really like [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]! It is very sweet though, thats my main concern with it. [name_f]Zoey[/name_f] or [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] could be a livelier alternative though it is very popular. Maybe [name_f]Cara[/name_f] or [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] as another C alternative.

Chloe is lovely, and not a name you hear too often nowadays  It’s quite beautiful! I love the suggestion of [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] as an alternative though. Maybe you’d also like [name_f]Cara[/name_f] or [name_f]Cierra[/name_f] (see-air-ah)?

It’s not my favorite. Though it isn’t as common for little ones today, I do find it kind of a 90’s, early 2000’s name that’s associated with the “mean girl.” (goodness gracious, name stereotypes!)
C names:
[name_f]Cara[/name_f]
[name_f]Cady[/name_f]
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f]
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Clarisse[/name_f]
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
[name_u]Connelly[/name_u]
[name_u]Connie[/name_u]

Daphne and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] are similar.
I hope this helps!
