Choose our son’s name

When we named our daughter, [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], this forum was a big help! Now baby boy is due [name_u]December[/name_u] first, and we are stuck. We want to honor both sides of our family but can’t come up with the right combination. Our last name starts with a P and is 2 syllables. Please help us combine one name from each side of the family into something that sounds good and goes well with his sister “Emmy Lou”! Variations are ok.

Mom’s Side [name_u]Honor[/name_u] Names: (really prefer to use [name_u]Denver[/name_u] but not sure about it as a first name)
[name_u]Denver[/name_u]
[name_u]Ray[/name_u]
Joseph/Joe/some variation
[name_m]Mark[/name_m]
[name_m]Allen[/name_m]
[name_u]Benjamin[/name_u]
[name_u]Carson[/name_u]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]

Dad’s Side [name_u]Honor[/name_u] Names: (would like to use [name_u]Edward[/name_u] but don’t want it as a first name)
[name_u]Edward[/name_u]
[name_u]Charles[/name_u]

I really like Benjamin Charles with Emma Lucille! Benji and Emmy Lou or Ben and Emma.

Joseph Edward would be my second choice. Joey and Emmy Lou.

I love [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u] or [name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Everett[/name_u] with nn [name_m]Rhett[/name_m] or [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] with [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]!

[name_u]Ray[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u] would be my second choice

[name_m]Just[/name_m] a few alternatives to [name_u]Denver[/name_u] that came to mind - Denby, [name_m]Dennis[/name_m] or [name_m]Denzel[/name_m] and for a [name_u]Jo[/name_u] name [name_m]Jonas[/name_m] or [name_u]Jonah[/name_u]

Denby [name_u]Charles[/name_u]? [name_m]Jonas[/name_m] [name_u]Edward[/name_u]?

In agreement with PPs though - [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u], [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u] or [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u] would be lovely! I do also like [name_u]Denver[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u] or [name_u]Denver[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u]

[name_u]Denver[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u] is so handsome! [name_u]Denny[/name_u] and [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u]!

Perhaps a variation of [name_u]Edward[/name_u] such as [name_m]Edwin[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Ted[/name_m], [name_u]Teddy[/name_u], [name_m]Ned[/name_m], [name_m]Ed[/name_m], [name_m]Eddy[/name_m], [name_m]Edgar[/name_m], Edbert, [name_u]Edison[/name_u], [name_u]Eden[/name_u], Edmond/Edmund, or Edric/Edrick.

[name_u]Edward[/name_u] means prosperity. Other names that mean prosperity (or something similar) are [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Otis[/name_m], Derrien, [name_m]Otto[/name_m], Ryker/Riker, [name_m]Darius[/name_m], or [name_m]Prosper[/name_m].

Some variations of [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] are [name_u]Jonah[/name_u], [name_m]Joab[/name_m], [name_m]Jon[/name_m], [name_m]Jonathon[/name_m], [name_u]Joby[/name_u], [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] “Jordy”, [name_m]Joshua[/name_m], [name_m]Josiah[/name_m], [name_m]Jove[/name_m], [name_m]Josias[/name_m], [name_m]Joel[/name_m], [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m], [name_m]Jones[/name_m], [name_m]Jonas[/name_m], [name_u]Joss[/name_u], [name_m]Jotham[/name_m], or Joffery.

Other combos from your list:
[name_u]Joseph[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u] “Joey”
[name_u]Joseph[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u] “Joey”
[name_u]Denver[/name_u] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] “Denny”
[name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u] “Benny/Benji”
[name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] “Benny/Benji”
[name_u]Carson[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u] “Sonny”
[name_u]Carson[/name_u] [name_u]Everett[/name_u] “Sonny”
[name_m]Mark[/name_m] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u]
[name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] “Charlie”
[name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Denver[/name_u] “Charlie”

or
[name_u]Edison[/name_u] [name_u]Denver[/name_u]

I love Ray Edward!
Joseph Edward “Joey”
Or Benjamin Edward “Benji”

I actually really love [name_u]Denver[/name_u] as a first name. It’s unique but not out there, and he could go by [name_u]Denny[/name_u] if he wants something more common. [name_u]Denver[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u] sounds good together, but I also really love the idea of [name_u]Denver[/name_u] [name_u]Edison[/name_u], or even just [name_u]Denver[/name_u] [name_u]Eddie[/name_u].

[name_u]Denver[/name_u] wins for me! [name_u]Denver[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u] or [name_u]Denver[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u] both sound great!!

Congratulations!

I think if your keen on using [name_u]Denver[/name_u] then you should go ahead with incorporating that name. [name_f]My[/name_f] immediate thought was [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u] [name_u]Denver[/name_u]. I appreciate that this is a two middle name combination which isn’t what you may necessarily want BUT I think this overall name works.

[name_u]Joseph[/name_u] would be a lovely first name for a [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] born baby and I think using a slightly [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] inspired name is perfect for a [name_u]December[/name_u] baby. Of course this is assuming that you celebrate [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] still if [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] isn’t something you guys do I do think [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] sounds fab with [name_f]Emma[/name_f] as they are both friendly, simple classics. [name_u]Joe[/name_u] & [name_f]Emmylou[/name_f] sound so sweet together with a lovely southern flair. I think [name_u]Edward[/name_u] sandwiched between [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] & [name_u]Edward[/name_u] is a lovely addition which with the ‘e’ beginning ties in [name_f]Emma[/name_f] nicely. I think [name_u]Denver[/name_u] rounds of the name in a really cool fashionable way. The only potential downside is that your son would have one extra middle name but my brother has two middle names me & my sister don’t it’s never been an issue so I definitely think it works.

Anyways hopefully you’ll like [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u] [name_u]Denver[/name_u] :blue_heart:

[name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] [name_m]Carl[/name_m]

[name_m]Carl[/name_m] is a variation of [name_u]Charles[/name_u]

[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_m]Ben[/name_m]
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f] and [name_m]Benji[/name_m]
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u] and [name_m]Benji[/name_m] [name_m]Carl[/name_m]

[name_u]Denver[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u] would be nice!

[name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Ward[/name_m]
[name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Denver[/name_u]
[name_u]Jonah[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u]
[name_u]Teddy[/name_u] [name_u]Ray[/name_u]
[name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u] “Benji”
[name_m]Rayden[/name_m] [name_u]Edward[/name_u] (combining [name_u]Ray[/name_u] and Denver)
[name_m]Josiah[/name_m] [name_u]Edward[/name_u]
[name_m]Marcus[/name_m] [name_u]Edward[/name_u]
[name_m]Benson[/name_m] [name_u]Charles[/name_u]

[name_u]Denver[/name_u] works as a first name and I really like it! Also like [name_u]Everett[/name_u] from mom’s list. Both names from dad’s side are classic and usable as first or middles. [name_u]Denver[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u] or [name_u]Denver[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u] both work!

As much as I would love to see [name_u]Denver[/name_u] used, I couldn’t come up with a name that would work with it.

I do like

  • [name_m]Mark[/name_m] [name_u]Edward[/name_u]
  • [name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Everett[/name_u]
  • [name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Ray[/name_u]
  • [name_u]Edward[/name_u] [name_u]Carson[/name_u]
  • [name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m]
  • [name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_m]Koray[/name_m]

[name_u]Baby[/name_u] [name_u]Joey[/name_u] or [name_u]Denny[/name_u] :heartpulse:
[name_u]Denver[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u] seems like it has the most meaning so I’d go with that!
I love [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] especially for a [name_u]December[/name_u] baby though!

[name_u]Denver[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u] is handsome

[name_f]My[/name_f] personal favorite is [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u], but I think [name_u]Denver[/name_u] is certainly usable if you really love it!

[name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Denver[/name_u] gets my vote! It almost sounds like a famous persons name haha

I think you could totally go with [name_u]Denver[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u], or even [name_u]Edward[/name_u] [name_u]Denver[/name_u] with [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] as a sweet nickname. [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u] & [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is super sweet. Otherwise, I think [name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Denver[/name_u] with nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] also goes nicely with your daughter’s name.

[name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Denver[/name_u]
[name_m]Ward[/name_m] [name_m]Allan[/name_m]
[name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] [name_u]Edward[/name_u]
[name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Everett[/name_u]

Maybe you could combine [name_u]Edward[/name_u] and [name_u]Denver[/name_u]

[name_u]Ever[/name_u]
[name_u]Evren[/name_u]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_m]Den[/name_m]

With [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u] I really like [name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Denver[/name_u]

[name_u]Charles[/name_u] “Charlie” [name_u]Denver[/name_u]

I know a Charl0tte Nic0le who is called “Ch@rcole”, so you could do something like that for a nickname!
