Choosing a name

I don’t have children, just a name nerd. [name_f]My[/name_f] taste in names change often. One week I love the name, next week not so much.

My all time favorite girls name was [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], always loved it. If a had a daughter that would be her name. But then my love affair with the name ended it.
After a while, I just get tired of the names

For those that have children, did this ever happen to you? Have you chose a name for your child, but after a while stopped liking the name? How did you chose your child name?

Thank you

We have our first little one coming in [name_f]May[/name_f], and I’ve suddenly gone from being passionate about a good few names before we were pregnant to feeling kind of indifferent to them all now!

I think tastes change, and in my limited experience it’s felt a lot different naming a hypothetical child than one that’s on its way!!

This falling out of love with a name happened to me when I named my son. Reactions to it gave me doubts. But then, the name becomes embodied by the child and that is for most of us an unconditional love situation!
