Which name do you like better: [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] or Christophine? What vibe do they give you and what are some names with a similar style?

Thanks in advance!

My preference is [name_f]Christine[/name_f] or [name_f]Christina[/name_f]. I also love [name_f]Cristin[/name_f]!

I would choose [name_f]Christabel[/name_f]. I like the [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] Pankhurst association. Christophine is interesting but it’s less familiar to me than [name_f]Christabel[/name_f]. Both names give me ā€œelegant lady in the Victorian eraā€ vibes.

i agree with @choupette the christabel pankhurst association is a positive one and makes me really love christabel.

i also think christabel fits in nicely with the ā€˜belle’ names that are popular/trendy at the moment but still feels unique :))

Christabel is my favourite!

Christabel is a gorgeous effortless name that feels delicate and ethereal. She has great references to Christabel Pankhurst and a range of potential nicknames including Belle. To me Christabel is great with this pretty wintry image and when I was naming my daughter it was name I thought about for a moment but was too in love with Lilia to seriously consider the name. Anyways Christabel is lovely.

I haven’t often thought about [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] as a name, although I’m sure I knew one through work many years ago. It’s not particularly my style, but it is beautiful and has an elegant, feminine and old-worldy feel.

I certainly like it much better than Christophine, which is an interesting one. I absolutely adore the name [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f], so it’s not like I can’t get on board with something like Christophine, but there’s just something about it I’m not loving.

Christabel reminds me of the other single L bels e.g. [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabel[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Elinor[/name_f] would be an adorable sibset.

I have to say my favourite of the two is [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] because it feels like it has its own identity as a name, as opposed to being a clear feminisation, but both are really lovely

I much prefer Christabel. I think of Christabel as being very innocent and sweet. It also makes me think of a ballad I had to read at school titled ā€œChristabelā€ by Coleridge. In the ballad, the other girl’s name is Geraldine!

Christabel is my favorite of the two for the simple reason that it feels soft and flowery to me :two_hearts:

Ooohhh these 2 are so refreshing!!

I prefer [name_f]Christabel[/name_f]. I think Christophine will be mistaken for [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] a lot. Which isn’t the worst thing ever, but if you love them equally, I think [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] is best (the first half of my name is the same as a common masculine name and it was common for teachers calling role to say the masculine name instead of mine)
