Yes, I also prefer [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. And I prn it as one syllable not Ku lare.
Thanks to everyone who responded.
And I’m from the midwest, though I’m pretty sure I pronounce it the same as everyone else. I guess my phonetic spelling wasn’t very accurate, sorry about that.
I like the [name_f]Claire[/name_f] spelling. I’ve never seen it spelled another way outside books and the Internet, so [name_u]Clare[/name_u] and [name_u]Clair[/name_u] just don’t look right to me.
Deff [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. I could get on bored with [name_u]Clare[/name_u] if I had to, but [name_u]Clair[/name_u] is incomplete. I actually relate it more to “chair” than the name…
I prefer [name_f]Claire[/name_f] (also 1 syllable for me), but my best friend has a female [name_u]Clare[/name_u] in her family too
I would pick something classic/vintage to go with [name_f]Claire[/name_f], but a modern, stylish name would work too.
