Not pregnant yet, but I’m working on a sister name for [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. Last name is [name_m]Russell[/name_m]. I like these three right now, but I’m open to suggestions.
I’m not worried about popularity, but I want to avoid trendiness. I like simple, friendly, and timeless.
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] ([name_f]Josephine[/name_f]) - In many ways, she’s the best fit. I like the flow with her last name, and [name_m]Luke[/name_m] & [name_f]Emily[/name_f] are a cute sibset. But are people bored with [name_f]Emily[/name_f] now? I think it’s a wonderful name, but I don’t want to be the only one who appreciates it anymore. I don’t know many Emilys; maybe that’s why I still like it?
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] ([name_f]Jane[/name_f]) - DH’s favourite, with nn [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. Is [name_f]Kate[/name_f] borderline trendy? I like that the name is classic, and it feels almost refreshing amid the Kaitlyns, etc. I like nn [name_u]Kit[/name_u].
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] ([name_f]Isabel[/name_f]) - I assume this one will be the nameberry favourite. It hasn’t had the mega popularity of [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f], but it’s definitely on the rise. It’s simple but classy - but is it becoming trendy/overused? This one has the advantage of being a longtime favourite of mine.
The middle names are my favourites that I’ve come up with, but I’m open to suggestions!
Hmm…
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] - This name has a beautiful flow, [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is a stunning name very whole and elegant. [name_f]Emily[/name_f] works as her first name as it’s such a light feminine choice. But I am slightly bored my the [name_f]Emily[/name_f] & [name_m]Luke[/name_m] sibling pairing. I would like [name_f]Emily[/name_f] & [name_u]Luca[/name_u] or [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] & [name_m]Luke[/name_m] just has it has more jazz. Furthermore I prefer [name_f]Emma[/name_f] to [name_f]Emily[/name_f].
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - I adore the name [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], she’s an elegant and wholesome. I also adore the nicknames surrounding [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] including [name_f]Kate[/name_f] which is really sweet and far away from trendy. [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is not [name_u]Madison[/name_u]!! I also love how [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] sound together, the sibling set is lovely, but maybe [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is slightly lengthy next to [name_m]Luke[/name_m].
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] - The best from the sibling set in my eyes. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is a lovely choice, she has a fresh wholesome sound and look effortless. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] has a gorgeous sound and feels very sparky. She works beautifully with [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] the name feels so feminine and sweet. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_m]Luke[/name_m] feels like a very snappy combination. It has a spark, a flow which is beautiful.
All three are great combinations, I’ve been nit-picky, but my favourite is [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f].
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] is a lovely name. I guess it has been a bit ruined for me because I honestly know at least 20 (many with different spellings). It just starts to get a bit dull.
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is a nice steady name. It’s hard to have a strong opinion about it, but I can definitely say it’s not trendy. [name_m]Even[/name_m] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] I wouldn’t call trendy at all. It’s been around too long.
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] is very pretty. A little calmer than it’s sister [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. You’re right that it’s my favorite of the 3. I like the connection to clarity. Not fond of it with [name_f]Isabel[/name_f].
I forgot to mention the biggest strike against [name_f]Claire[/name_f]: flow with her last name, [name_m]Russell[/name_m]. I can’t decide how much it bothers me.
Also, what do you think of [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]? That way, if she hates having a common first name, she can go by a quirky middle…
Well all of your names are a bit common for my taste, but here goes:
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] - I find it overused and I know at least three Emilys. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is cool and vintage but no one will notice because it’s a mn. Together they’re okay.
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]- Nice, but really classic. Right down to the spelling. Maybe try the fresher [name_f]Katharine[/name_f]? NN [name_f]Kate[/name_f] or [name_f]Cate[/name_f] is okay. I will say the same about [name_f]Jane[/name_f] as I did about [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. Also, together they don’t flow very well.
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] - [name_f]Claire[/name_f] in my opinion, is a goody-two-shoes name that was trendy once but is now a sad has-been. I think it would sound much more unique and interesting if it were [i][name_f]Clara[/name_f][i] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]. [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] is okay, and together they’re okay.
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is super cute! Great flow and good balance of fun/steady, common/unique. And you’re right, it does go well with your surname.
I love your list! [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is just stunning with your last name, and I wouldn’t worry about its popularity, as long as you love the name.
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] is a classic name, and always will be.
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is also beautiful, and goes nicely with your last name. [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is also a classic, and the nn [name_f]Kate[/name_f], as well.
While I love [name_f]Claire[/name_f], I do not prefer it your last name, as it does run together.
I would stray away from [name_f]Claire[/name_f] because of the flow with your last name.
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] are both nice. I am a little bit bored of [name_f]Emily[/name_f], so because of that I would choose [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
I have a [name_u]Clare[/name_u] and [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] and I like [name_f]Emily[/name_f] as well! With your last name I vote for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f].
Of the three names , I prefer [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and, while the flow isn’t ideal, I’ve heard much worse. I like [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] but the two r’s in this fn and the surname are even worse when it comes to the flow in my opinion. If you’re only concern is flow, [name_f]Emily[/name_f] is probably the best choice. I just think [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m] would be lovely together.
