We are in the process of adopting a little girl from [name_f]China[/name_f]. We have 2 boys [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] and a long Irish last name. We are having trouble choosing a name for her but we both like all 3 of these. Any thoughts?
I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] both go very well with [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and [name_u]Aidan[/name_u].
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] is my favorite from your list . I think is darling with [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] & [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] .
Congratulations on your adoption!
[name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], and [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] are all beautiful names! I’m partial to [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Abigail[/name_f], although with [name_u]Aiden[/name_u], I’d go with [name_f]Claire[/name_f] to avoid repeated initials with [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] and [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] (which seem sort of matchy, but still work nicely together!). I think I would rank them as follows:
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m], [name_u]Aiden[/name_u], and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m], [name_u]Aiden[/name_u], and [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m], [name_u]Aiden[/name_u], and [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
Good luck!
I looove the name [name_f]Nora[/name_f], so my vote goes to that one. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] are both fine names too, though, so you can’t really go wrong. PS. Congrats!
My favourite is [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is a gorgeous classic name and sounds darling with [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] & [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] : )
My vote goes for [name_f]Nora[/name_f]! I do like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] a lot, though.
I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] flows the best with [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and [name_u]Aidan[/name_u]
I love [name_f]Claire[/name_f]! One of my favorite girl names.
Congratulations!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Nora[/name_f]! Also, it’s a bit more multiculturally accessible (and by that I mean phonetic) than [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Abigail[/name_f], which is a plus in international adoption. Oh- and congratulations!
Your daughter already has a name.
Very best wishes with your growing familt.
My name choice would be [name_f]Claire[/name_f].
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] are my favorites.
I like all three with your boys names but [name_f]Nora[/name_f] best, then [name_f]Claire[/name_f], then [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]. Which sounds best with your last name?
I like [name_f]Nora[/name_f] with [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m].
[name_u]Love[/name_u] love love [name_f]Nora[/name_f]!
All beautiful, but I vote for [name_f]Nora[/name_f]!
Congrats on your new little girl!
I didn’t vote, but instinctively I like [name_f]Nora[/name_f].
I’m going to copy you the link to a really neat older article… The Chinnese have some beautiful naming traditions, worth reading about.
I know every situation is different: ie. not every childs birthdate is known, or not every child up for adoption comes with a name.
If this list interest you… From it I like [name_f]Lena[/name_f] or [name_f]Lana[/name_f].
At the very least I would follow the cultural naming tradition… [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t name her till you see her:)
Balance her name with what is happening on her adoption day. Maybe even look into the birth chart or lucky brush strokes.
[name_m]Even[/name_m] if you don’t believe per say in feng shui naming, it has cultural significance and one day may mean a lot to her.
Does she currently have a name she goes by?
Ugh, correction to my earlier post. I’m sure you have to have the name prior to adoption day for paperwork ect.
Still I would try to abide by tradition in what ever manner you can manage.
I’d pick [name_f]Claire[/name_f]! <3 There are some really cute Chinese names out there as well though.
Like: Kyona, Hay-Lin, Lian, Ling and Sya <3
