Hello, berries! We are 90% sure about our baby name and would love love love some insight in it. Our last name is St. [name_m]Louis[/name_m] and we thought of [name_f]Claire[/name_f] as the first name, no middle name as the last name is actually two names. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like the combo [name_f]Claire[/name_f] St. [name_m]Louis[/name_m]? The reason we are just 90% sure is because [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is a very very strong option being a name we’ve been thinking about for years now. This is our first baby and we wanna make the decision right, the favorite is [name_f]Claire[/name_f] but if we look at her and decide she looks more like an [name_f]Ella[/name_f], she’s gonna be an [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. But I would love to know from you guys, is [name_f]Claire[/name_f] St. [name_m]Louis[/name_m] a good one? What about [name_f]Ella[/name_f] St. [name_m]Louis[/name_m]? If you had to pick, which one would it be?
Also I’m very big on nicknames but I did choose names that don’t allow many. I can think of [name_f]Clary[/name_f] for [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Elle[/name_f]/[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] for [name_f]Ella[/name_f], if that’s not too much to ask, do you know any [name_f]Claire[/name_f]'s or [name_f]Ella[/name_f]'s with nice nicknames that you would like to share? I really don’t mind a stretch as the names are pretty much nicknameless. Thank you so so much!
Both your name choices are wonderful and sound amazing with your last name! I know a [name_f]Claire[/name_f] that goes by [name_m]Clay[/name_m] (or [name_m]Clay[/name_m]-[name_m]Clay[/name_m])!
Both lovely but it’s hands down [name_f]Claire[/name_f] St [name_m]Louis[/name_m] - looks and sounds perfect whereas [name_f]Ella[/name_f] isn’t nearly as salient or easy to say.
The Claires (or Clares) I know don’t get their names shortened much. Those that do get [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Clo[/name_f], or names using their last names! Maybe you’re daughter will get [name_m]Louis[/name_m] in high school! The [name_f]Ella[/name_f] I know gets [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or Ells but she most often gets her name or full name ([name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]).
(The more I said [name_f]Ella[/name_f] St [name_m]Louis[/name_m] the easier it got! You’ve got two great options.)

When my mom told me I would probably have a hard time naming a baby I always thought it would be finding a name and not choosing between two of them and my husband is just as confused as I am, we even considered using both of them as in [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] St. [name_m]Louis[/name_m] but it just got too much an kinda lost the magic for both of us. Ugh so hard! So so so hard to pick. Beautiful choices you have in there! My #2 almost was [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and the first name I thought for her was [name_f]Claire[/name_f] so I’m a bit biased. I can’t pick honestly. But [name_f]Claire[/name_f] does have a magical sound. I relate it a bit do [name_f]Carrie[/name_f] St. [name_m]Louis[/name_m] though (which is a good thing, I had the chance to meet her once and that girl has the sun inside of her).
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] St. [name_m]Louis[/name_m] is awesome and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is also nice. I know a [name_f]Claire[/name_f] who is [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_m]Bear[/name_m] to her family.
I love [name_f]Claire[/name_f] with your last name! So so so much more than [name_f]Ella[/name_f] which I think is overused, but [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is fresh and beautiful.

I prefer [name_f]Ella[/name_f], but [name_f]Claire[/name_f] ages so well. Both names sound great with your surname.
