Clancy for a girl?

[name_u]Clancy[/name_u] is my maiden name and I’ve been mulling it over in my head for awhile now as a first name for our daughter. At the moment we are thinking of having two middle names and making [name_u]Clancy[/name_u] one of them.

But I was wondering if it could work for a first name instead?

We don’t want to use similar names like [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] or [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (suggestions off my mother).

Thanks!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!
I posted something similar a while ago, I posed the question as to whether [name_u]Clancy[/name_u] was a boys, girls or unisex names. I got some really interesting feedback and no real definite answer. Here is the link for you to have a look at

I think because it was your maiden name, it might be a nice idea to use it on all your children? Especially if they have two middle names, you could use [name_u]Clancy[/name_u] as the second middle name, so it’s like a hyphenated surname, but not? Or you could weave it into your own combos in it’s own way, because sometimes things just don’t ‘flow’ for example I want to use the middle names [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and Dahl, and I think that ‘[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] Dahl’ sounds better than ‘[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] Dahl [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]’

Good luck!
