Does it sound made-up? Yeah, I guess so. Reminds me of smoosh names. I’d wonder if it was in honor of someone, or a smoosh of [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] and [name_f]Arlene[/name_f] or something similar. However, I think it works fine and flows nicely.
I instinctively pronounce Lilene as Lill-een. I think that the similarity between [name_f]Lil[/name_f]- names makes it less likely for Lilene to be pronounced correctly. However, it would be simple enough to say that it is [name_f]Eileen[/name_f] with an L.
I too would pronounce this Lill-EEN until corrected. It sounds made up, yes, but in the middle spot I don’t think that’s an issue. It’s pretty!
I think in the middle it’s fine…like others I’d pronounce it as Lill-een. I do find [name_f]Clara[/name_f] Lilene to be very L-heavy, but it’s not likely that she’ll be called by her first & middle names together often.
I think it works fine. I really like [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. Lilene does sound made up to me, but I don’t think that matters if it’s only a middle name.
