Clara or Georgia?

We are expecting our fourth child and we just found out it’s a girl. We have narrowed our names down to [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Clara[/name_f], but don’t love how popular it has become in our area. I love the sound of [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], but don’t like that it’s a place name. However we love the nickname [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] and would probably call her that. Also, what goes best with our other kids’ names:

[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Miles[/name_m]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]

Thanks!

I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] flows well with your other kids names. I think it’s a beautiful name and wouldn’t worry to much about the popularity of it really suits your little one.

As for [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], a lot of short names that used to be nicknames have become names. You could absolutely call your little one [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] as a full name. It also fits well with her sisters names.
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_u]Georgie[/name_u].

Full names other than [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] (although I don’t think it looks as good with the sibset)
[name_f]Georgiana[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]

Although I would just love to meet a [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] over a [name_f]Clara[/name_f], I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] goes much better with the other names! I think you could make it work with [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] if your heart is really set on it, though!! I don’t think matching sibsets is that big of a deal personally.

I dont think [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] being a place name matters, it’s a really popular name in some places
And [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] seems like she would fit in wonderfully with her siblings
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] seems like it would be more popular than the already popular [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], whereas [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is about as common as [name_f]Maggie[/name_f].
Personally I really like [name_u]Georgie[/name_u], [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and I think it fits better than [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] even though both options are great

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] sounds so cute with your other names!

Personally I like [name_f]Clara[/name_f] more than [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], but both are nice names and I think either one works with the sibling names.

I don’t know what area you’re in, but in my experience, [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] are both more popular than [name_f]Clara[/name_f], so I wouldn’t let popularity alone dissuade you.

As for [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] being a place name–it’s also a place that was named after a person, so I do think that’s a bit different.

I’d go with [name_f]Clara[/name_f], but I think you should just pick whichever one you like more–both are good choices.

I love both names and both would be perfect. I have my own little [name_f]Clara[/name_f], so she gets my vote.

This probably doesn’t help, but I don’t think you can go wrong either way. Both names sound lovely with your sibling group, and both names are classy and sweet. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have a middle name picked out that could help the decision?

I prefer [name_f]Clara[/name_f] but really like both. I wouldn’t worry about [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] being a place name as it’s a traditional girl’s name.

[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]!!!

I like [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] the best with your other kids. It’s old fashioned but spunky like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], and [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] feels too plain.

I like [name_f]Clara[/name_f] because I prefer the name and I think the ending of [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] is very similar to [name_f]Maggie[/name_f].

I love both, but if [name_f]Clara[/name_f] really popular where you live, that would put me off too.

As for [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], I never, ever think of it as a place name. It has such a long history as a name, I don’t think it matters that its also a place.

I think both go well with your other kids names, though [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] would go even better.

I vote for [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. It goes beautifully with your sibset. [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is nice.

I would go with [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], since I’m not a fan of [name_f]Clara[/name_f] personally. [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] feels friendly, approachable and down-to-earth to me. Both names go well with your other kids’ names though, so you can’t go wrong!
