[name_f]Clara[/name_f] x1000! Although [name_f]Julia[/name_f] is still nice.

[name_f]Julia[/name_f] by far! I’ve always thought [name_f]Clara[/name_f] felt a little stiff.

For me it depends on your accent. I love the british [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. I find it utterly gorgeous.
With an american accent I still like [name_f]Clara[/name_f] but prefer [name_f]Julia[/name_f].

I much prefer [name_f]Clara[/name_f], but that’s because of a personal association.

I really love both! I find it hard to decide, especially since I know of a family with twin girls, [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. I find [name_f]Clara[/name_f] more warm and sweet and lush, and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] a bit more severe and button-up. I would be more likely to use [name_f]Julia[/name_f] up front, and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] as a middle. I agree with @opheliaflora - I am madly in love with the British pronunciation of [name_f]Clara[/name_f], and while I don’t mind [name_f]CLAIRE[/name_f]-ah, I don’t like it anywhere near as much as CLAR-ah.

I love both, but I don’t think you should worry about [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. It is a timeless, pretty name, and I don’t imagine it being dated at all. Unless it shoots to the Top Ten suddenly and then drops off ten years later and becomes obsolete (which I don’t see happening) I think it will stay a classic.

To me [name_f]Clara[/name_f] feels like a trend name (comes around every second generation or so) but [name_f]Julia[/name_f] feels like a classic - never really “trendy” but always familiar.

[name_m]How[/name_m] strange! I didn’t know Americans pronounced it differently. The normal clar-ah is much nicer.

I prefer [name_f]Clara[/name_f] over [name_f]Julia[/name_f] but I prefer [name_f]Claire[/name_f]/[name_u]Clare[/name_u] over [name_f]Clara[/name_f].

[name_f]Clara[/name_f], definitely. Personally, I feel like [name_f]Julia[/name_f] is a little dated.

Thanks for all the helpful comments and votes! Too funny about the twins.
I hadn’t considered the British pronunciation, but it does sound softer. And we already have a [name_f]Claire[/name_f] in the extended family, so that’s not an option.
Decisions, decisions!
