We have pretty much narrowed it down to two names for our baby girl due in [name_u]November[/name_u]. Big brother is [name_u]Henry[/name_u]. Our last name starts with L and is two syllables.
Which do you prefer with [name_u]Henry[/name_u]: [name_f]Clara[/name_f] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f]?
If we pick [name_f]Clara[/name_f] her middle name would be [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f].
If we choose [name_f]Violet[/name_f], we aren’t yet set on a middle name, just not [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] because of the repeating “ett” sound. I would also love some middle name suggestions with [name_f]Violet[/name_f]! Not [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or any other noun, please.
It depends how your pronouncing [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. In the UK (where I am) we’re pronouncing [name_f]Clara[/name_f] as KLAARA whereas I see that in the states the pronunciation is claire-uh which I’m not massively into. So for me is pronunciation [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (KLAARA) is beautiful, Christmassy and elegant. I love how romantic [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is a very sweet combination.
If the name is [name_f]Clara[/name_f] pronounced Claire-uh I would go with [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is a lovely floral choice with sweet imagery and makes a very sweet sibling set with [name_u]Henry[/name_u]. [name_u]Henry[/name_u] & [name_f]Violet[/name_f] would make a lovely sibling set. Some middle name ideas could be [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].
How are you pronouncing [name_f]Clara[/name_f]? Clar-uh (clar, rhyming with car) or more like Claire-uh?
If it’s the former, I’d pick [name_f]Clara[/name_f], if it’s the latter, my vote goes to [name_f]Violet[/name_f], but to be honest, you can’t go wrong as both are gorgeous names! [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] makes a lovely combo!
definitely clara juliette! such a beautiful, classy name that fits any age and matches perfectly with henry, and i honestly prefer the american pronunciation. if you go with violet, i like violet elizabeth, violet june, violet isobel, honestly many things
With [name_u]Henry[/name_u] I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] sounds better But I prefer the name [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
Middle names for [name_f]Violet[/name_f] could be:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_m]Eldwyn[/name_m]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] Lizabeta
I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is gorgeous and flawless with [name_u]Henry[/name_u]. However, my heart lies with [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
If it is [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (KLAARA), then [name_u]Henry[/name_u] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f], 100%! They both feel so elegant and cozy, very endearing.
If it is [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (CLAIRE-uh), I’d have to say [name_f]Violet[/name_f], because I’ve never enjoyed that pronunciation. I like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] for combos, but my overall vote goes for [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (KLAARA).
It depends for me if you are pronouncing it [clah rah] as the European way, or [clay rah]. I do not like [name_f]Clara[/name_f] pronounced [clay rah].
But I would be hard pushed to chose between the two.
Ooh, great choices! I love Clara; it feels so elegant and timeless, so I would definitely pick [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is lovely too, though! Here are some middle name suggestions. Congrats, btw <3
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is absolutely gorgeous but my favorite girls’ name of all time is [name_f]Violet[/name_f] so I’m a bit biased here. Both names are gorgeous though, and pair really well with [name_u]Henry[/name_u].
Here are some MN recommendations for [name_f]Violet[/name_f]- I think long names pair best:
