I love both in theory, but [name_f]Clara[/name_f] falls a little flat to me when I hear it in real life for some reason. (It’s still classy and pretty though.) [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is so pretty, and I love that nothing else sounds much like it! I love the bright “i” sound. I vote for [name_f]Violet[/name_f], but you can’t go wrong.

Definitely [name_f]Clara[/name_f]!

I love love [name_f]Clara[/name_f] prn. Claire-uh especially around the holidays as it makes me think of the nutcracker and find it a subtle nod to her birthday without it being too cutesy. And think it would be perfect with big brother [name_u]Henry[/name_u].

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] is also beautiful (it’s my lo’s middle) but it doesn’t match the classic feel of [name_u]Henry[/name_u] as much and it feels a little more like a spring/summer name (not that that matters too much)

From info provided, there’s a good chance [name_f]Clara[/name_f] flows better with your last name. I like the names equally. I like the names a lot. I like them both with [name_u]Henry[/name_u]. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is hard to top.

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Clare[/name_u] might be the answer!

Oh goodness I didn’t even think of the [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and nutcracker connection, and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] being more spring-like. What a lovely way to think of it! Thanks for your input. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Ohh, these are two of my very favourites, so almost impossible to choose between them! You absolutely can’t go wrong with either [name_f]Clara[/name_f] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f], in my view.
Any chance of putting them together? [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is exquisite (although [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is gorgeous too!). If the other way round, [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Clare[/name_u] sounds really beautiful to my ear as well.
I have positive literary associations with both names: [name_f]Klara[/name_f] / [name_f]Clara[/name_f] from [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] & also The Nutcracker, and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] Baudelaire from A Series of Unfortunate Events - all great characters!
Other options with [name_f]Violet[/name_f] which might echo the romantic & slightly “Parisienne” feel of [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Aria[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Sabine[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Aline[/name_f]

It’s a tough choice as I love both names and both sound gorgeous with [name_u]Henry[/name_u] but, as an Australian I do prefer the ‘clah-ruh’ pronunciation, so for that reason my vote goes to [name_f]Violet[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Clara[/name_f]

Voting for [name_f]Violet[/name_f] but only because you would be using the pronunciation “Claire - uh” which would lead, in my opinion, to confusion. I do not think that is the all-around “American pronunciation.” I believe that “Klaara” is.
