I really like [name]Claire[/name] but my husband doesn’t. He likes [name]Clara[/name] though. [name]Claire[/name] is really popular too. I am not sure what to think of [name]Clara[/name]. I don’t dislike it. What kind of person do you think of when you hear the name [name]Clara[/name]? Is it too old-fashioned? Please be honest any opinions are welcomed Thank you!!
Honestly, I like [name]Claire[/name] so much more. I don’t think of a person when I see [name]Clara[/name], I think of a cow (mainly because of Clarabelle Cow, the Disney character). I don’t really see it as old fashioned, but there’s a little bit of dust on it. I think it’s one of those names that everyone knows, but not every other girl is named it. Perhaps something like [name]Clarissa[/name] or [name]Allaire[/name] for a compromise?
I think [name]Clara[/name] is a lovely name - loved it from the moment I read [name]Heidi[/name] as a child! I think it’s pretty and quite European - as you can tell - I am a fan
I love the name [name]Clara[/name], but I’m English so I might have a different view of it. Certainly never heard it being referred to as a cow’s name before. To me the name brings to mind a poised, intelligent young lady. Not the loudest in the group, but knows what she wants and certainly no push over.
I actually really love [name]Clara[/name].
I have nothing but lovely, fresh, happy thoughts connected with it.
It makes me think of clear blue skies, and crisp red grape juice, and soft skirts laying on grass.
[name]Claire[/name] is okay, but it’s a little more flat (rather than the roundedness of [name]Clara[/name]), and you could always use [name]Claire[/name] as a nn if you named her [name]Clara[/name].
I actually don’t like [name]Claire[/name], but I love [name]Clara[/name]! I don’t get the cow connection either, but I’m European as well Its one of my favourite girl names!
I think [name]Clara[/name] is really pretty, I prefer it to [name]Claire[/name]. It sounds cute on a little girl, but is definitely the sort of name that will grow with the individual. And it’s a classic name that you don’t hear often. I like it a lot.
I prefer [name]Clara[/name] to [name]Claire[/name], it’s a pretty vintage name!
It’s pretty, sweet, and certainly classic. I’d be sure to couple it with a stronger (but still pretty) middle name. Maybe something French.
My name is [name]Claire[/name]. I’ve always gotten lots of compliments on it - I love its simplicity and elegance, and that there aren’t any nicknames. However, [name]Clara[/name] is one of my very favourite names! If it weren’t so similar to my own name, I’d use it in a heartbeat for a future child. I think [name]Clara[/name] sounds sweet, feminine, graceful and intelligent. It’s familiar, yet fairly uncommon. A beautiful, perfect little name.
[name]Clara[/name] is such a sweet name. I don’t think it’s too old-fashioned or a cow name at all! People are naming kids [name]Clover[/name] and [name]Elsie[/name]…if those don’t fall in the cow name category, [name]Clara[/name] certainly doesn’t.
I like (okay, probably even love) both [name]Claire[/name] and [name]Clara[/name]. [name]Both[/name] honor family for me, and they’re both on my list as middles ([name]Claire[/name] multiple times!). I honestly can’t really see myself with a [name]Claire[/name] or a [name]Clara[/name], but I do love them in the MN spot. I think it’d be refreshing to meet a little [name]Clara[/name], it’s sweet and a bit artsy and charming, but unexpected, and I’m with @novaberry–I imagine a girl who can hold her own, is confident, but not pushy or snooty. I would love to meet a little [name]Clara[/name]. I’m not sure if it matters, but I much prefer the British pronunciation (clah-rah) to the American one ([name]CLARE[/name]-ah).
[name]Clara[/name] is a wonderful name. I can’t help but think of the The Nutcracker for a moment when I hear the name, very pretty.
I’m not a big fan of [name]Claire[/name] but I quite like [name]Clara[/name] actually (although it reminds me of doctor who but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.)
I love [name]Clara[/name], it’s much nicer than [name]Claire[/name] in my opinion. I see a summery little girly girl when I think of a [name]Clara[/name]. I also think of [name]Doctor[/name] Who’s most recent sidekick…but then I am a DW fan so not everyone would think of this reference, especially not in a few years time. The name [name]Clara[/name] [name]Madeline[/name] is on my list of favourites
I love [name]Clara[/name] - it is so much more elegant and timeless than [name]Claire[/name]. Makes me think of the Nutcracker ballet.
I absolutely love [name]Clara[/name], and much prefer it to [name]Claire[/name].
I think [name]Clara[/name] is really sweet. It makes me think of the Nutcracker ballet. My cousin-in-law has a 1-year-old name [name]Clara[/name]. I think it’s a lovely name.
I much prefer [name]Clara[/name] to [name]Claire[/name]. It strikes me as a musical sort of name and very beautiful. I like that it is less common than [name]Claire[/name] as well.
I love [name]Clara[/name]. It’s has a vintage feel but still very usable these days. [name]Claire[/name] sounds rather snobbish to me, while [name]Clara[/name] sounds warmer and more elegant.
