Clara?

What do you think of [name]Clara[/name]? We don’t know the gender of the baby but I just came across this name and I love it!! I already have a [name]Charlotte[/name]. I don’t know about having 2 C- names though.

Thanks for your help!!

I like [name]Clara[/name]- it is classic and modern. [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] go well together, but if you have another child, it would look weird if you didn’t keep with the ‘C’ names.

Of course, it depends on what nickname [name]Charlotte[/name] might go by. [name]Lottie[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] seem a lot different than [name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Clara[/name]. But, [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] sound different enough you could pull it off.

I think [name]Clara[/name] is just perfect, so sweet and simple and fits the similar traditional style of [name]Charlotte[/name] too. [name]How[/name] are you pronouncing it? I only like the Clah-ruh pronunciation, the beginning sound rhyming with Car, [name]Bar[/name] etc.

Actually, the more I say the names together the more I dislike it because of the similar sounds at the start of each name [name]Char[/name]/Clar.

Hmmm, difficult one because they look great together but don’t sound too good.

This is maybe an odd way to think about it, but I feel like it depends on how many more kids you want to have.
If you have just two girls, [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Clara[/name], and even if they have brothers whose names start with different letters, I think it’s really sweet. I think they may love that their names have subtle similarities; it might make them feel closer in a way, a mutual pride in the letter C! I think the names sound distinct enough and each has something special that the other doesn’t - [name]Charlotte[/name] has that luxurious French sound, and [name]Charlotte[/name]'s [name]Web[/name], and [name]Clara[/name] has that sparkling clear sound, and the Nutcracker. They’re not blatantly twinnish like [name]Sara[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] or something.
But if you plan on (or are surprised by) having three or more girls, and then you feel obligated to give them all C names… it starts to get cutesy.

I love it! I wouldn’t worry too much about the two C names.

[name]Love[/name] it, love it, love it!!! I actually just posted on your thread about boys’ names. We clearly have very similar taste. I absolutely adore [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] as sisters. I love that they’re slightly similar because of the same first letter, but with different sounds that make them clearly their own names. [name]How[/name] I would love to have two little girls name [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] (but my DH doesn’t have similar taste at all and our names are always very different!).

I wouldn’t worry at all about two names with the same letter. It doesn’t tie you into anything for future children. Good luck!

[name]Clara[/name] is super pretty! You could also use [name]Claire[/name], [name]Clarise[/name] or [name]Clarissa[/name], I like them all. [name]Clarissa[/name] sounds more like [name]Charlotte[/name]'s sister to me, but [name]Clara[/name] is also sweet! Here are some middle name suggestions:

[name]Dawn[/name]
[name]Lily[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name]
[name]Leanne[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Leonie[/name]
[name]Grace[/name]
[name]Maria[/name]
[name]Marissa[/name]
[name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Joy[/name]

I like it with [name]Charlotte[/name]! Not too matchy cause the Ch/Cl thing. Like if you had another girl it wouldn’t be strange to pick a non-C name!

I adore [name]Clara[/name]! [name]One[/name] of my favorite names.

I love [name]Clara[/name]! It’s elegant and sweet.

I [name]LOVE[/name] this name! I really wish my husband loved it, too…I wanted DD3 to be [name]Clara[/name].

I always think of the sweet character in [name]Heidi[/name]. It’s a lovely name.

I really love [name]Clara[/name]. I’ve always been iffy about [name]Clara[/name]/[name]Claire[/name] next to [name]Charlotte[/name], though, I just never liked the pairing. I do love [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] separately, though, and I do think they work as sisters. It’s just me being picky.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Clara[/name]. It’s one of my faves, lovely name. I think [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] makes a wonderful sibset

These are lovely names. It’s ok for them to have two c names, and rest of sibling different names. It’s just two names, you can’t make a theme of two parts. I think for theme is needed at least three same parts. So, I suggest you… name your daughetrs [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Clara[/name], and after you got third daughter, name her something different, like [name]Laura[/name]. Then it will be just three random names, hardly no-one will notice.

I’m usually not a fan of having kids with the same letter, but I think [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] is cute. Keep in mind, however, that it may look odd if you don’t continue with the C’s. Also, how are you pronouncing it? I like [name]Clair[/name]-a or Clar-a? I prefer the Clar-a pronounciation, but it’s a pretty name.

I love [name]Clara[/name] too. It is a really pretty name and goes great with your daughters.

It’s a really adorable name and it definitely doesn’t sound weird together with [name]Charlotte[/name], quite on the contrary actually.
I like the sound of [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Clara[/name].

I think [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] are great together!! They both start with C, but the Cs sound so different that I think it works.

We have similar taste in names, haha. [name]Charlotte[/name] is my favorite choice for a girl and [name]Clara[/name] is tied with [name]Emilia[/name] as a second favorite. :]

I think [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] could definitely work together. Yes, they’re both C names, but they have different sounds so it works. Go for it!
