Clarence and Florence?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Nameberries,

Searching for a name for DD2.
DD1 is [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn [name_u]Del[/name_u]. DS1 is [name_m]Clarence[/name_m] nn [name_f]Clarry[/name_f].

If DS1 was a girl we were planning on calling her [name_f]Florence[/name_f].
We are now unexpectedly expecting DD2!

Can we still use [name_f]Florence[/name_f] nn [name_f]Flo[/name_f] or is it too matchy matchy with [name_m]Clarence[/name_m]??

Help!

I think [name_f]Florence[/name_f] sounds fine, especially if you’re using nicknames. Some other ideas:
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Odessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Valerie[/name_f]
[name_f]Vanessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f]

I think it seems a little too matchy. [name_f]Frances[/name_f] or [name_f]Flora[/name_f] instead, maybe?

[name_m]Clarence[/name_m] and [name_f]Florence[/name_f] would be too close for me personally. Other names with a similar vibe:

[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Paulina[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]
[name_f]Helen[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]

I honestly love [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_m]Clarence[/name_m], and [name_f]Florence[/name_f] together. If you’re planning on DD2 going primarily by [name_f]Flo[/name_f], I wouldn’t even worry about it

Thank you all for your replies.

We do love the name [name_f]Florence[/name_f].

Some other names under consideration are;
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] (or [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] if that suits her better)
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] nn [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] or [name_f]Hettie[/name_f]
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f] nn [name_f]Goldie[/name_f]
[name_u]Brinley[/name_u] nn [name_u]Brin[/name_u]

Any thoughts on these as stand alone names and as a sibset with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_m]Clarence[/name_m]?

I think it is, I’m sorry! Both are great names and both go great with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] (so cute!), but they’re too similar for my liking as sibs.

They’re too close in my opinion, I’m sorry. Especially because [name_f]Clarry[/name_f] doesn’t seem like a nickname that a little boy would continue to use into adolescence (just as you never know whether or not your girls will continue to use theirs). I adore [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] for you!
