Classic and timeless, NOT whimsical or out there?

I was looking at names on the [name]London[/name] Telegraph’s birth announcements section, and a few names to to pop up a lot! I actually like a few, but I was just wondering what your thoughts are on these…
I’m looking for something classic and timeless, but I don’t like anything that sounds to whimsical, and fairytale like.
Anyways, here are a few I liked, and I’d love to see what you think and if you have anything to add!

[name]Flora[/name]
[name]Florence[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Freya[/name]
[name]Leonora[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Emily[/name]
[name]Amelie[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Ottilie[/name]
Emaliese
[name]Alba[/name]
Liviana

I like many of these, especially [name]Florence[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name].

Names that hit a similar feel for me:
[name]Vera[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Alma[/name]
[name]Esther[/name]
[name]Rachel[/name]
[name]Rebecca[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name]
[name]Mildred[/name]
[name]Ruth[/name]
[name]Maude[/name]
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Joan[/name]
[name]Laurel[/name]

[name]Flora[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] this name. My dh does not :frowning:
[name]Florence[/name] - Cute!
[name]Scarlett[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] it!
[name]Freya[/name] - Like it a lot, it is very popular here, though. I don’t find it classic in English.
[name]Leonora[/name] - Very, very pretty. Wish my husband thought so as well
[name]Lucy[/name] - So cute!
[name]Emily[/name] - I don’t care for [name]Emily[/name] at all.
[name]Amelie[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] - love these, especially [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Ottilie[/name] - Cute
Emaliese - Sounds too made up
[name]Alba[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] it
Liviana - just OK

[name]Flora[/name] – don’t like
[name]Florence[/name] – worse than [name]Floria[/name], in my opinion
[name]Scarlett[/name] – [name]LOVE[/name], especially with the nn [name]Carly[/name]
[name]Freya[/name] – in the same category as [name]Flora[/name] and [name]Florence[/name]
[name]Leonora[/name] – can’t imagine this on a child
[name]Lucy[/name] – beautiful. I love this name. I just wish I liked one of the longer names to go with it so I could use [name]Lucy[/name] as a nn.
[name]Emily[/name] – okay. Not my favorite, but not bad. I’ve known a ton of Emilys over the years so it’s lost its classical feel to me
[name]Amelie[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] – same as [name]Emily[/name], except I haven’t known any Amelias. I’m just not crazy about it, but it’s okay.
[name]Ottilie[/name] – hate
Emaliese – intersting. I’ve never heard this one before, but I like it, especially with the nn [name]Emma[/name]
[name]Alba[/name] – sounds like a male name. Hate
Liviana – eh, it’s okay. It sounds like a variation of the name [name]Olivia[/name] that doesn’t quite match [name]Olivia[/name]'s elegance

Other classic names I like:
[name]Miranda[/name]
[name]Rebecca[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Kate[/name] (prefer [name]Kate[/name] to [name]Katherine[/name])
[name]Katerina[/name] (nn [name]Kate[/name])
[name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Abby[/name] (though the full name [name]Abigail[/name] isn’t bad. I just prefer [name]Abby[/name])
[name]Emma[/name]

I love [name]Florence[/name], [name]Leonora[/name], [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name]. [name]How[/name] about:

[name]Irene[/name]
[name]Helen[/name]
[name]Maris[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name]
[name]June[/name]
[name]Naomi[/name]
