Classic baby girl names list

I’m expecting a baby girl due early next year and my husband and I still struggling for her name.
Any thoughts on our list ? I know it’s quite a huge list…
I’m thinking of [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] for a middle

  • [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Annabella[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] (we’re living in [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] isn’t feels weird?)
  • [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] as a good combo :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I’m not sure if you wanted opinion on all but my favorites so far are: [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], and [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

If the middle name is [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] I would steer clear from [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], given the similar -ia ending

Love [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] but don’t love the [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] ending, a few combos featuring names on the list are:

Henrietta [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Annabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] best. Not as popular or trendy as [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] or [name_f]Rose[/name_f] etc.

Magnolia is a great middle!

Alice [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]

…are all lovely! You might also like [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] or [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f], which are similar!
Otherwise [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] (not weird to me) [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are also nice!

Alice [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] would be so sweet! I also quite like the sound of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f].

Welcome and congratulations @Mary1723 :confetti_ball:

Helena is my favourite from your list — such a beautiful, serene, underused classic. But I don’t love the repeated ending sounds with [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] in the middle. [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] or [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] might fit your style?

Alice [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] would be wonderful!

Alice [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] would be gorgeous!

Hi there.

Here are my thoughts-

  • Alice-I like this one a lot. It’s soft & sweet, but also smart & sophisticated. A little bit common, but not too bad.

  • Annabella-That’s nice. Kind of frilly, but very cute. Lots of good nn options.

  • Amelia-I love it so much. It’s a perfect balance of smart, classic, bold & feminine. It’s my kitty’s name! It is really popular for humans though, if that bothers you.

  • Charlotte-This is even more popular than [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], & not nearly as good in my opinion. It’s fine…just doesn’t seem super special. The combo of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is really pretty though.

  • Eleanor-[name_u]Love[/name_u] this one! Kind of like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. It’s strong, adventurous, classic & feminine w/out being fussy. Also popular, but for a good reason.

  • Elizabeth-A smart, kind solid classic w/lots of great nn options. I like [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Bess[/name_f], [name_f]Bette[/name_f] & [name_f]Tess[/name_f].

  • Isabella-Beautiful name, but so over done.

  • Georgiana-Ooh, that’s fun. Maybe the most interesting name from your list. It’s frilly but sounds strong. Good nn options here too.

  • Mary [name_f]Grace[/name_f]-I’m not a fan of double barrel names myself. I think that just [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is sweet.

  • Henrietta-This is really different & vintage. I’m not personally in love w/the sound, but I still appreciate how it’s a refreshing choice. And the nn [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] is super cute.

  • Helena-I don’t care for this one, but it’s okay. Pronunciation could be an issue. I’d prefer just [name_f]Helen[/name_f] or [name_f]Elena[/name_f].

  • Olivia-Beautiful name, but unfortunately #1 in popularity.

  • Savannah-Maybe a little weird to have a baby [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] in [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. I don’t care for it anyway. Sounds a little snobby & trendy to me.

  • Scarlett-It’s okay, but fairly popular & sounds kind of dark & dramatic. I’m in the minority. I think most people like it.

  • Rose-[name_f]Lovely[/name_f]. Simple, classic, smart, beautiful imagery & the super cute nn of [name_f]Rosie[/name_f].

  • Penelope-Aw, I like this. It’s smart & fun. Great nns here too! I like [name_u]Penny[/name_u], [name_f]Polly[/name_f] & [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] (love [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]!). You could also do [name_f]Poppy[/name_f].

Hope this helps.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites are:
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] ([name_f]Lottie[/name_f]) [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is one of my favorite names but with it and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] both being 4 syllables it seems a bit much to me. Maybe [name_f]Elise[/name_f]/Elyse [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] as an alternative.

No to [name_f]Rose[/name_f] two flowers is a bit much.

For some reason I’m adoring [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] too! It’s such a sweet southern name with some ‘Gone with the Wind’ vibes. Very [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] appropriate! I’m a [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] resident as well. Speaking of gone with the wind [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] is another solid option.

Alice [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is beautiful!
