Classic by not overused name for girl #2

I’m looking for a girl’s name to go with older siblings [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Reed[/name]. I want something feminine, classy and if possible, not overdone. Can you help me out? I think I’m stressing over this too much and just can’t decide now!
Here are a few of our choices so far:
[name]Eliza[/name], [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Vivian[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Anne[/name], [name]Ada[/name], [name]Violet[/name] or [name]Marianne[/name]
What are your thoughts? Help please!

From your list, I love [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Vivian[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Anne[/name], and [name]Marianne[/name]. What about:

[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Helen[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Frances[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Dorothea[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Eve[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Florence[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Helena[/name]
[name]Adele[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name]
[name]Rosemary[/name]

You have a great list going. I would change [name]Anne[/name] to [name]Anna[/name]; I think [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] would be great together. If you’re looking for something slightly more under the radar, the first name that popped into my mind as a sister for [name]Lucy[/name] is [name]Nina[/name].

With [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Reed[/name], I’d suggest:

[name]Anne[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Faye[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Maud[/name]
[name]Opal[/name]
[name]Sara[/name]
[name]Tess[/name]

[name]Lemon[/name]

posting mom here:
my thoughts on a few of my choices:

ruby- this is hubbies favorite. i’m a little worried about it being too close to the other names. but hubbie and other family think its not a big deal. am i just over stressing? i love this name too.

vivian- used to be my fav. someone else we konw just used it so that makes me a little reluctant.

marianne- i love this one for its jane austen connection and the fact that it isn’t used much (now anyway)

anne/anna- too plain compared to lucy?

I love [name]Violet[/name] or [name]Anna[/name] with [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Reed[/name]

While I do love [name]Ruby[/name], I think that folks are right that it sounds too close to [name]Lucy[/name]. [name]Imagine[/name] constantly trying to decipher if your mom said [name]Lucy[/name] or [name]Ruby[/name]?

I also think you’d end up saying Luby far more often than you realize. : )

I really, really love either [name]Marianne[/name] or [name]Anna[/name] with [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Reed[/name]. I don’t think [name]Anna[/name] is too plain, but rather simple yet feminine and classic (like [name]Lucy[/name]), and I think [name]Marianne[/name] is a refreshing name of the same ilk, but you just don’t see around as often anymore (but I wish you did : ) ).

I love [name]Ada[/name] with [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Reed[/name] (:

I’m going to skirt your names - they’re perfectly perfect but I’m going to focus this post on suggestions:

[name]Harriet[/name]
[name]Pippa[/name] (maybe too strange for you)
[name]Miriam[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Alexa[/name]
[name]Audra[/name]
[name]Belle[/name]
[name]Ellen[/name]
[name]Gladys[/name]
[name]Michelle[/name]
[name]Renee[/name]
[name]Lizzy[/name]
[name]Emma[/name]

P.S. of lemon’s suggestions I liked [name]Cora[/name], [name]Faye[/name], [name]Maud[/name], [name]Tess[/name]. And you should consider [name]Thea[/name].

I love the thought if a different ending than “y” for this other girl so I like the [name]Anna[/name].
[name]How[/name] about:
[name]Helena[/name] ([name]Lena[/name])
[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Vanessa[/name]
Now I am spacing but you get the idea …

[name]Lucy[/name], [name]Reed[/name] and…

[name]Beth[/name]
[name]Camilla[/name]
[name]Eden[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Joy[/name]
[name]June[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Mamie[/name]
[name]Penny[/name]
[name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name]

Good [name]Luck[/name]!

[name]Lucy[/name], [name]Reed[/name] and

[name]Juliet[/name] because it is so pretty and makes a good sibset

[name]Anne[/name] it is so good to see [name]Anne[/name] and it fits perfectly

[name]Vivian[/name] works well too

[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Marion[/name] or [name]Mary[/name]/Mairie

[name]Maeve[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name] [name]Olwyn[/name]

[name]Julia[/name] [name]Gwen[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Harriet[/name]

[name]Vivian[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name] [name]Kate[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name] [name]Faith[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name] [name]Georgia[/name]

[name]Anne[/name] [name]Elise[/name]
[name]Anne[/name] [name]Dorothea[/name]
[name]Anne[/name] [name]Mariella[/name]
[name]Anne[/name] [name]Bellamy[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Anne[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]

I really dislike [name]Ada[/name] but [name]Adeline[/name] is pretty love [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Rose[/name].

I think [name]Eliza[/name] is too hard next to [name]Lucy[/name] who is fun and carefree.

[name]Celia[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] make a good sibset

Also [name]Ciel[/name]

best wishes

rollo

I love all these suggestions!

Some of the names suggested are ones the DH has said no to- [name]Alice[/name] (which I was so bummed about), [name]Violet[/name], [name]Maeve[/name]…

Thanks for being such a great resource!

Oh! and I think I can officially cross [name]Ruby[/name] off the list. I hadn’t thought about the possibility of calling my girls Luby on accident. Down here in [name]Texas[/name] that’s a cafeteria restaurant!

I think of the names you are thinking of [name]Anna[/name] goes best and is really simple but beautiful.

[name_f]Myla[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyla[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]
[name_f]Maura[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_m]Hayes[/name_m]

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_u]Reed[/name_u], and [name_f]Amy[/name_f]

Have you considered [name_f]Louise[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f] or [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]? Along the lines of [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. Also love the suggestions of [name_f]Beth[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] are the best fit from your list. I like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] a smidge more.

Out of the suggestions, [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] seems perfect.
Personally, I group [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] in with names like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u].
I also love the set [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_u]Reed[/name_u] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f].

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] seem like the perfect choices to me. I like [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] a little more for its bold imagery and off the radar-ness, but if you use [name_f]Anna[/name_f] then all of your children will have four letter names, which is a sweet, subtle link between them all.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_u]Reed[/name_u] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] sounds like a great sibset to me!
