Classic girls names

What do you think of the names [name]Cora[/name], [name]Mary[/name] and [name]Emma[/name]?

We already have a daughter named [name]Charlotte[/name] and my mothers name is [name]Cori[/name] so I thought [name]Cora[/name] would honor her.

What are your thoughts? ThanksXx

I like all three. If I had to rank them, I’d say

  1. [name]Cora[/name]
  2. [name]Emma[/name]
  3. [name]Mary[/name]

All three names are very pretty.

[name]Cora[/name]- [name]Love[/name] this. It’s becoming more popular because of Downton [name]Abbey[/name], but I wouldn’t hesitate to use it. I like it with a sibling named [name]Charlotte[/name], though it may trap you into using a C themed set.

[name]Mary[/name]- I really like this too, especially with the middle name [name]Cecilia[/name]. It’s a tad plain compared to [name]Cora[/name], but it’s still very pretty.

[name]Emma[/name]- My least favorite. It’s become so popular over the past few years it feels like there are tiny [name]Emma[/name]'s everywhere. This goes well with [name]Charlotte[/name] too.

[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

If I were to rank them…

  1. [name]Mary[/name]
  2. [name]Emma[/name]
  3. [name]Cora[/name]

I like them all, but [name]Mary[/name] is my favorite hands-down.

I really like [name]Mary[/name]. [name]Cora[/name] I like, but I don’t think it suits [name]Charlotte[/name]. And I really like [name]Emma[/name], but again I think it falls short of [name]Charlotte[/name].

[name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] would be very nice.

I think [name]Mary[/name] is my favorite, followed by [name]Emma[/name] - I love [name]Cora[/name], but I personally prefer it as a nickname and I think it could potentially be a nickname for [name]Charlotte[/name], so I think they may be a tad too similar for me.

Great picks! I like [name]Cora[/name] the best, followed shortly by [name]Mary[/name]. [name]Emma[/name] is just too popular for me these days. I love that [name]Cora[/name] honors your mom! If you wanted a more formal name with [name]Cora[/name] as a nn, you could use [name]Cordelia[/name], [name]Cornelia[/name], or [name]Coraline[/name]. Good luck!

[name]Cora[/name] - [name]Pleasant[/name], not very common. I like [name]Coraline[/name]/[name]Coralie[/name] a bit more but they’re a bit fussier. I like [name]Caroline[/name] but that’s too far from your mom’s name. I tend to like the gentle vintage feel of all the [name]Nora[/name]/[name]Flora[/name]/[name]Cora[/name] names.

[name]Mary[/name] - I love it. Maybe my favourite of all of these. Very classic, not trendy, and quite pretty but grounded.

[name]Emma[/name] - My least favourite. [name]Even[/name] of very common classic girls names, I prefer [name]Emily[/name] or [name]Ella[/name] to [name]Emma[/name]. Less popular, I’d prefer [name]Esme[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Imogen[/name], etc. Or even [name]Amy[/name] and [name]Amanda[/name], which were classic names but revived about thirty years ago and have thus died away again by now. But apparently everyone loves [name]Emma[/name] (it does have [name]Austen[/name] on its side) so if you love it, it’s certainly not in poor taste. It just doesn’t do anything for me.
