Lately I’ve been loving the name [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] - nn [name_m]Nate[/name_m]. I love how [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] is so classic, yet uncommon, while [name_m]Nate[/name_m] could be an appropriate nn from babydom to adulthood.
My hubby is yet to be convinced - our favourite is [name_m]Callum[/name_m] - and I’m finding it hard to find other names with similar qualities like [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m].
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] is a great name. It may be more common than you realize though and is being used a lot more. I wouldn’t use the word uncommon in reference to [name_m]Nate[/name_m] or [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m].
I second the [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] suggestion). You also might like:

We named our son [name_m]Victor[/name_m] partially because we thought the nickname [name_u]Vic[/name_u] was really appealing/cool. We call him [name_m]Victor[/name_m] and [name_u]Vic[/name_u] interchangeably.
This next baby I’m having will be [name_m]Francisco[/name_m], and we’re calling him [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] as a baby with the thought that [name_m]Frank[/name_m] or [name_m]Franco[/name_m] are good nicknames for a boy/teenager.
