Claude?

A long time favourite of mine, but it had dropped of my radar as a serious contender for use IRL. But I was recently researching popular names from over a century ago and there it was.

What do you think of Claude?

Stylistically, I don’t know quite where to put it. It’s old fashioned, sure, but then I get cool, artsy vibes too - possibly because of Monet, Debussy and Claudia from the Babysitter’s Club!

[name_u]Claude[/name_u] is such a nice name!! I’m with you that I never know where to put him. He’s vintage, but kind of chic, not super clunky

I always hear [name_u]Claude[/name_u] in a [name_u]French[/name_u] accent there was a [name_u]French[/name_u] character - a full on stereotype - called [name_u]Claude[/name_u] in cartoon The Raggy Dolls, which was a childhood favourite and I love it! It has a brooding quality to it, I guess from the artistic associations.

[name_u]Claude[/name_u] is lovely!! It used to be at the very top of my list, but I struggled with reconciling myself to the meaning and eventually parted with it.

[name_m]Even[/name_m] then, I love its sleek yet warm feel, its familiarity without the popularity, it’s artistic connections, and gender-neutral nature!

I think it would be an easy name to wear and I would love to meet a baby [name_u]Claude[/name_u] :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
