I can’t decide whether I like [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] or [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] better! What are your thoughts, and impressions of each name?
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] all the way! I feel like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is expected. Its not as exotic and unusual as [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] (preferably pronounced clem-en-teen)!
I really like both, if I had to pick one myself, I’d go with [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], however, if I had to name a random teenager without knowing anything about them, I’d choose [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] for them as I think it’s easier to live with (no “Darling [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]”, no fruit name, and [name_u]Josie[/name_u], [name_f]Posey[/name_f], Phina, [name_m]Phinny[/name_m], etc. are all relatively natural nicknames in case they want something shorter or don’t like the name).
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]! I love it, and find it more beautiful than [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
I prefer [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] :). I’ve never met anyone with this name, but would love to! It’s so gorgeous.
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is cute but I would stay away from fruit names.
I prefer [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. I just haven’t been able to get on board with [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. I don’t hate it for a middle, but it doesn’t have any good nicknames that I know of (I guess there’s [name_f]Em[/name_f]/[name_f]Emmie[/name_f], but that’s a little overdone to me) and the full name just makes me think of the song. If I told my family I wanted to name a baby [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], they’d probably think I was joking. Not that they necessarily have the best taste in names, but I’m just saying it doesn’t feel wearable to me.
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] on the other hand, I adore. I love it in its full form and several of its nicknames. It’s a name I wouldn’t mind having myself.
I love both names! You could narrow it down by considering what nicknames you’ll be using if any. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] has a plethora of those and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] just [name_u]Clem[/name_u], unless you get creative (I like [name_u]Clem[/name_u] though). Is popularity an issue? Does one hold more meaning to you than the other? Which flows better with your last name? (I love [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] but probably can’t use it since I want the nickname [name_u]Jo[/name_u] and with my last name it will be rhymey like [name_u]Jo[/name_u] Schmoe lol). Really tough choice but in the end I’d probably go with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
I really like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] & much prefer it over [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].
I’m not a big fan of [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], myself. The [name_u]Clem[/name_u] is unattractive and it’s a name that just sounds like anything but a name (a fruit, cleaner, or seasoning for some reason) to my ear.
I would highly suggest going with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]! It’s a very pretty name. I’m sorry, I can’t offer you any more reasons other than that it’s just my personal preference. I just really can’t see any appeal in [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] whatsoever, while I like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] very much.
I like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] much more than [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] feels dated. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is lovely and has adorable options for nicknames.
It’s a difficult decision as both are such beautiful names. Instinctively I chose [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]; it’s been a name that has interested me for a long time, I find it beautiful, elegant and cute all at the same time. But [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is also gorgeous, with a plethora of nicknames and namesakes to go on.With a desicion like this, where, in my view, neither name is ‘better’ than the other, I would suggest that you look at other factors such as flow with your surname/potential middles, meaning, namesakes, nickname possibilities and family links/sibsets.
Good luck choosing!
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]! I like [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], but I’m hearing it more and more and think it will soon become trendy.
Totally different names here! [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] to me is trendy and feels like it’s trying too hard to be cute and unique without actually accomplishing either. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is classic and elegant, yet feels applicable in modern day life and has amazing nickname potential. So (obviously) my vote is for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. It ages so much nicer than [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. I agree with @manna that the “[name_u]Clem[/name_u]” part of the name just sounds really unattractive, even gross, to me, maybe it’s because it rhymes with phlegm? Haha, anyway, [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] gets all my love!
I vote for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. I love the nicknames [name_u]Jojo[/name_u] or [name_u]Josie[/name_u].
I’m in the minority here, but I love [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]'s nicknames. I’ve got a huge soft spot for [name_u]Clemmie[/name_u]. You could also do [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] or [name_f]Minnie[/name_f]. [name_u]Josie[/name_u] and [name_u]Jojo[/name_u] for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] are adorable too.
I’m not going to be much help, I adore both names!
That being said, I think I’d go with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] as I would probably not be bold enough for [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]!
I don’t like [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], so [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].
I would say [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. Simply because it seems sweeter and more refined to me (not that I find [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] low-class–I definitely don’t!–I just expect her to be much more spunky). [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] lately has been exuding almost royal class, to me. I can see a European [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] (I know there’s already a Danish one, but I can imagine a [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] of any generation!) who goes by [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] or [name_f]Posy[/name_f] by the royal family. I love the nn [name_f]Emmy[/name_f], but I like [name_f]Clementina[/name_f] much more than [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. I do imagine a spunky, sassy, precocious, friendly little [name_m]French[/name_m] girl named [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], though, who is best friends with every single person she’s ever met, who loves puppies and does everything she sets her mind to and never settles down for an instant, haha. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] feels very tranquil and peaceful to me in comparison. Plus, I adore [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and [name_f]Posy[/name_f]. [ETA: It probably helps that I’m falling for the combo [name_f]Liliana[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] excessively fast! I grin every time I see her on my list these days!]
