[name_m]Just[/name_m] a few questions about [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].
What’s your initial response to [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]? I think it’s sweet. But not sure if I love any of the nicknames enough to want to add it to my list.
Would it be weird to use the nickname [name_m]Lemon[/name_m]? [name_m]Even[/name_m] though both names [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] are food? If I did one day use it, would it be better to use the nickname [name_u]Clem[/name_u] or [name_f]Emmy[/name_f]?
[name_m]Lemon[/name_m] is weird. But that’s coming from someone who wants to name her son [name_m]Fox[/name_m] so take it for what it’s worth ”. [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] is cute. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is a sweet name.
I really don’t like it, sorry. [name_u]Clem[/name_u] reminds me of phlegm (so avoid this nickname) and it just feels like naming your child [name_f]Tangerine[/name_f], or just simply [name_u]Orange[/name_u]. It also feels very pretentious too.
I prefer [name_f]Emmy[/name_f], and would avoid [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] “oranges and lemons, say the bells of St. [name_m]Clement[/name_m]'s”…
I love [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]! It’s such a happy name.
I think [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is great! FWIW, I think it was a name before it was a food (like MacIntosh was a person before Macintosh apples) so it’s not the same as naming a kid [name_f]Apple[/name_f] or [name_u]Orange[/name_u].
I’d avoid the nickname [name_m]Lemon[/name_m], personally, and I think [name_u]Clem[/name_u] is a bit masculine and abrupt. [name_f]Emmy[/name_f], [name_u]Clemmy[/name_u], or [name_m]Lemmy[/name_m] are all ok nicknames, but personally I’d use the FN
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is nice. I really liked it a while ago, and still think it’s lovely, although I usually don’t like it with my other favorites, but lately I’m majorly crushing on [name_f]Clementina[/name_f] (clem-en-tee-nah) as a mn, so I much prefer [name_f]Clementina[/name_f] to [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] is okay, I guess, but I think of [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] Breeland (sp?) on [name_m]Hart[/name_m] of [name_f]Dixie[/name_f], and that’s really my only association with it, and I’m not her biggest fan. [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] as a name does intrigue me, but I do think it’s kind of weird to nickname a fruit name with the name of another fruit.
I like [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] the best, out of nn options for [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], but I’ve also heard [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] and [name_f]Clea[/name_f] (which really don’t make sense to me? I like [name_f]Clea[/name_f] more, though).
Good luck!
I absolutely love [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. Here in Australia it’s not a fruit (I didn’t even know it was considered a fruit until I heard it from Americans) so that’s not a problem at all for me. I think it’s sweet and charming. I like the nn [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] (a bit of a stretch, but I love it!) I also think [name_f]Mintie[/name_f] could be kind of adorable for a young girl.
Adorable little name
