No, I’m not considering it for myself. But I love genealogy and just stumbled upon this combo. Thought it might be interesting to see what people thought.
What do you think of the combo [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Ismay[/name]?
If you’re wondering, Miss [name]Cleo[/name] was born in 1894.
[name]Cleo[/name] feels very cat-worthy to me for whatever reason, though I have known a person with this name. She was an interesting person. That said, I do like it. [name]Ismay[/name] is new to me and I think if I keep seeing it I can get rid of the “dismay” connotation.
An interesting combo! I like [name]Cleo[/name]! [name]Ismay[/name] sounds a bit like [name]Esme[/name] to me though (maybe I’m just pronouncing it wrong?). I did think of the dismay thing too.
Overall [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Ismay[/name] isn’t that bad!
I like it! [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Ismay[/name] is pretty.
[name]Just[/name] like others, I also think about “dismay”, but since it’s the middle name, I guess it’ll be okay.
I pronounce it a bit like [name]Esme[/name] too.
I think it’s catchy. Admittedly, [name]Clio[/name] is a favorite. And I’ve had a bit of a thing for [name]Esme[/name] (which sounds so similar) since I read these ridiculous prep school books back in elementary school where she was the cool girl. It’s got that quirky, almost country, turn-of-the-century vibe that I’m so fond of.
[name]Cleo[/name] [name]Ismay[/name] is pretty! I couldn’t figure out where I’d heard [name]Ismay[/name] before until it suddenly dawned on me–J. [name]Bruce[/name] [name]Ismay[/name], one of the managers of the White [name]Star[/name] [name]Line[/name] and the man who decided to reduce the number of lifeboats aboard the Titanic. So not a great association, but I don’t think that most people would be aware of it.
And, yes, it’s pronounced more like IHZ-may than IS-may.
