With our daughter’s name, [name_f]Isis[/name_f] [name_f]Marina[/name_f], which do you like best?
For the middle we’d probably use something summery and bright, possibly something linked to the beach/ocean like [name_f]Marina[/name_f] is - I love the idea of [name_f]Oceana[/name_f] but is that too matchy? I like [name_f]Nerida[/name_f] which means ‘mermaid’ as well.
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] and [name_f]Isis[/name_f] would be a perfect match.
[name_f]Nerida[/name_f] is lovely but [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] doesn’t work with [name_f]Nerida[/name_f]. Maybe [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f]Maren[/name_f]? One of the meanings for [name_f]Maren[/name_f] is “star of the sea”.
Another vote for [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f]Nerida[/name_f]!
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] is from [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f], an Egyptian queen, and [name_f]Isis[/name_f] is an Egyptian goddess - they’re prefect together! And I like that [name_f]Nerida[/name_f] is a sweet link to your daughter’s middle name without being obvious (I’d agree - [name_f]Oceana[/name_f]/[name_f]Marina[/name_f] are maybe a bit too obviously themed, but they’re in the middle so does it matter that much?) What about [name_u]Bay[/name_u] in the middle? [name_f]Thalassa[/name_f] is Greek and means ‘the sea’ too.
I like [name_f]Leilani[/name_f] with [name_f]Isis[/name_f] a lot as well. [name_f]Leilani[/name_f] [name_u]Bay[/name_u] would be nice?
[name_f]Coco[/name_f] is lovely (it’s on my list as a nn for [name_f]Constance[/name_f]) but I don’t think it’s a very similar style… I guess they’re both outside-trendy/up-and-coming or whatever you’d call them, but [name_f]Coco[/name_f] feels old fashioned and sweet, whilst [name_f]Isis[/name_f] is more exotic princess.
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] and [name_f]Isis[/name_f]. [name_m]How[/name_m] do you feel about alliteration? [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]? (daughter of the sea) I love it, but I know [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] isn’t as soft as [name_f]Marina[/name_f].
I also love [name_f]Leilani[/name_f] with [name_f]Isis[/name_f]. [name_f]Coco[/name_f] not as much… it is cute but feels much less substantial.
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f]Nerida[/name_f] definitely! It’s also nice that it has many of the same connections as your daughter’s name while still being separate and distinct with it’s own beauty.
While my favourite is [name_f]Leilani[/name_f], I think [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] is the most natural “fit” with [name_f]Isis[/name_f]. [name_f]Coco[/name_f] is too clownish to take seriously. I can’t imagine a grown woman looking for a job with this name.
I really love [name_f]Coco[/name_f] and [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] - I’m really torn because [name_f]Coco[/name_f] and [name_f]Isis[/name_f] are both short and sweet and share those repetitive syllables, while [name_f]Isis[/name_f] and [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] share ties to ancient [name_u]Egypt[/name_u]. I’m usually not a fan of nickname-y names on the birth certificate, but in this case, I like both and I think they are equally lovely. I am not a big fan of [name_f]Leilani[/name_f], but that is a matter of personal taste - it just sounds too pretty for me - but I think it’s a good name. I like that it doesn’t share an in-your-face connection to [name_f]Isis[/name_f], but I think they are similar in that they come from two different, ancient, beautiful cultures.
If I was to choose my favorite name from your three, it would be [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], as it’s the only one I would use on my own daughter. However, I think the girls’ middle names being ocean-themed will be enough. I understand connecting your children’s names, like giving them all family names as middles, or nature names, having them start with the same letter, etc, but in this case, if you went with [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f]Nerida[/name_f], it would be almost like you were naming your second daughter after your first - Egyptian first name, ocean-y middle. I think [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f]Nerida[/name_f] is amazing, but too close for my comfort. The names just feel really close together, and I’m not a fan of that.
I’d go with [name_f]Coco[/name_f] or [name_f]Leilani[/name_f], leaning more towards [name_f]Leilani[/name_f] because I don’t usually like too much matchy-matchy. [name_f]Leilani[/name_f] [name_f]Oceana[/name_f] or [name_f]Coco[/name_f] [name_f]Nerida[/name_f] are gorgeous! I also love the name [name_f]Ondine[/name_f], which means ‘little wave,’ and I think [name_f]Leilani[/name_f] [name_f]Ondine[/name_f] is beautiful as well.
P.S. I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Nerida[/name_f] in the first name spot. [name_f]Nerida[/name_f] [name_f]Leilani[/name_f]? [name_f]Nerida[/name_f] [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]? I like those more than [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f]Nerida[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Nerida[/name_f] and [name_f]Isis[/name_f] and
[name_f]Nerissa[/name_f] [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] and [name_f]Isis[/name_f]. I like the subtle ‘s’ repeat in both [name_f]Isis[/name_f] and [name_f]Nerissa[/name_f].
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f]Nerissa[/name_f] and [name_f]Isis[/name_f] too
I do love [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f]Nerida[/name_f], it’s a gorgeous pick for your daughter. [name_f]Coco[/name_f] doesn’t really do much for me, and it sounds unrefined. [name_f]Leilani[/name_f] is a bit too casual of a name to go with [name_f]Isis[/name_f].
