One of my most important criteria for naming our daughter is that she will be able to grow with her name - that it will suit her as a child but also as an adult. Please let me know your thoughts - does [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] fit the bill? Thanks.
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] is definitely one of my favorite names, although I prefer [name_f]Clio[/name_f]. Although I’m a bit bias, I think that [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]/[name_f]Clio[/name_f] would age well.
I think that [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] would age well because it is strong yet feminine and cute yet spunky so it would work. I prefer the look of [name_f]Clio[/name_f] but think that people would most likely misspell it where I live!X
I have to admit I briefly considered this name for my DD last year but discarded it for the very reason you’re wondering about. I couldn’t see an adult [name_f]Clio[/name_f]. I needed a longer form to get me there, for her to use in adulthood. At the time, I only knew of [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f] and that was too grandiose. But I’ve since learned of a few other longer forms that might appeal to you?
[name_f]Cliona[/name_f] / [name_f]Cleona[/name_f]
[name_f]Callista[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
Thanks so much all! Schickler - I am in Vancouver too
And yes, we have chatted about whether a longer “official” name would work with [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] as a nickname…I do like that idea to give her the option in the future. I have always loved [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] - perhaps that’s the way to go…
Thanks again! This is so helpful. We are keeping names secret so it feels like SUCH a relief to get others’ perspectives!
