[name_u]Love[/name_u] the girls name [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] but worried it may sound too nickname-ish/incomplete. What do you think of it and do you think it’s fine on its own?
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] is adorable. I personally think it can stand alright on its own, but if you’re still worried about it being Nicknamey it could work for [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f] or [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] or [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] or [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]! I think it can stand on its own but there are full names you can use if you like besides [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f], like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] nn [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] nn [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], and such.
Yes, another vote for [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]. I have met two in our city (one tourist!) 2-4 yr olds. So its not common but I was delightfully surprised to see it used and it sounded so great. [name_f]Cleona[/name_f] is another Irish name of which there are spelling variations but starts with the [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]. I don’'t think you need it either but since suggestions are put forward I thought I’d add it.
I’m not loving [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] as a full name. It feels/ sounds very masculine to me. I am a fan of unisex names, but not this one. I’d prefer to use it as a nickname but have a more complete full name. This gives her the option of using whichever name she prefers later in life.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Claire[/name_f] nn [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]?
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] is perfectly fine on its own especially if paired with a longer and “stronger” middle name.
I [name_u]Love[/name_u] it as a name in its own right. It definitely works better than [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f], and other long names that can be shortened have better nicknames. This is probably the spelling most people would think of, though [name_f]Clio[/name_f] might be better as a full name officially.
That’s the name of our blogger [name_u]Abby[/name_u] Sandel’s DD (although she spells it [name_f]Clio[/name_f])! I believe [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is after a (living) family member, and to avoid confusion they came up with the nickname.
I love [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] (and [name_f]Clea[/name_f]). I’m not a fan at all of nicknamey names as formal names & this does not fall into that category for me at all. It is a strong first name with a lot of history. If you decide to use a longer name, I like the suggestion of [name_f]Cleona[/name_f]. But I just love [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] on its own!
I don’t think it’s too nickname-y at all! I absolutely love [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] on it’s own rather than a nickname (though I actually prefer the spelling [name_f]Clio[/name_f]).
I think it’s fine on its own.
