Cliff & Bluff

What are your thoughts on these?
I knew a boy named Bluff with hippie parents & I always liked the double meaning.
[name]Cliff[/name] feels down-to-earth with less obvious nature ties. Can it stand alone without longform [name]Clifford[/name]?
Honest options welcome.
Thanks!

I think Bluff sounds really, really awkward. Like a bulldog puffing air through its jowls  I’m sure if I knew a Bluff, my association would be different, but that’s the honest-to-goodness picture in my mind. I also don’t like the whole “fib/ lie” connection.
[name]Cliff[/name] isn’t my style at all, but in comparison to Bluff, I’d take it in a heartbeat. I do think [name]Cliff[/name] can stand on its own, and it isn’t bad.

I like [name]Cliff[/name]. I’m surprised it isn’t seeing more use right now; it’s both a nature name and a vintage revival. Bluff makes me think of bluffing. I wouldn’t go there.

I think knowing a cute & mischievous boy named Bluff really made the name for me!
