Clover Willow...can a name have too many O's?

I’m considering the name of my third daughter. My first is named [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Alma[/name], the second who was stillborn in [name]April[/name] 2012 is named [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Mae[/name]. I’m thinking of naming my third daughter, [name]Clover[/name]. My reasoning is that I think it’s pretty but also it’s a tribute to [name]Clementine[/name] with the first two letters CL, has [name]LOVE[/name] in the middle and ends in R to include [name]Ruby[/name]. I think it sums up my trinity of girls. The problem is that my husband isn’t that keen and he prefers [name]Willow[/name]. We were thinking [name]Clover[/name] [name]Willow[/name]. Is that too many O’s? Last point is that our last name also has an O in it but also ends in the letters LER. Is it too much to have a first name and last name ending in the same sound? Appreciate thoughts on this…

Sorry for your loss.

I do think the flow is off with this pairing. It is also very heavy on nature names, which maybe is your style now? It doesn’t perfectly match [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Alma[/name] though.

Yes I think it has too many Os & too many nature references as well. [name]Clover[/name] & a willow are both easy to picture even for those who aren’t avid naturalists and I think that you can keep all of the details you like about the name. Maybe…

[name]Clover[/name] [name]Willa[/name]
[name]Clover[/name] [name]Wilhelmina[/name]
[name]Wilhelmina[/name] [name]Clio[/name]
[name]Wilhelmina[/name] [name]Clover[/name]

I like nature heavy names, so I like that aspect of it! I do think [name]Willow[/name] might be an easier name to grow into than [name]Clover[/name]. I still think [name]Clover[/name], as sweet as it is, might be too much of a “hippy name”. That being said I don’t think it is bad and I don’t think there are too many Os either. I don’t put that much importance into flow. Meaning trumps flow any day.

I don’t think it’s too many O’s, I think it’s too wordy. I like both names (especially [name]Willow[/name]) but I don’t think it’s a great idea to have two nouns, especially with [name]Ruby[/name].

My opinion is that there isn’t too many O’s but for me personally there is a little too much of a nature reference.
I prefer [name]Willow[/name] to [name]Clover[/name] and in my opinion [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Clover[/name] are not really my favourite together but [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Willow[/name] ‘fits’ more.
Congrats and good luck

My concern is that [name]Clover[/name] may come close to rhyming with your last name (or at least sounding too sing-songy) e.g. [name]Clover[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]. If you have a longer last name it may be ok.

Thanks so much everyone. That’s been really helpful and added fresh debate in the house!

I love it.
