What do you think of the name Cly? Husband wants to use [name_m]Clyde[/name_m] to honor his father, but I don’t like it. I think Cly is kind of cute as a middle name and it would still work as an honor name. I know it is an old surname, but I’ve never seen it before. Too out there?

As a first name I’d have a few reservations, but it could potentially still work with the right mn.
I do prefer [name_m]Clyde[/name_m] or [name_m]Clay[/name_m], but since it’s a middle name it’s fine!
I wouldn’t use it as a first name, but as a middle name I don’t think it matters if it’s a little “made-up” sounding since it has meaning to you. It would be a cute compromise and a way to honor your husband’s father.
