I have two different jobs, and it’s kind of interesting to see the generational differences. At my first job, I work in housekeeping and laundry at a hotel. Most of my co-workers are either middle-aged women, or women closer to my own ages (early to mid-twenties). Some of their names are:
[name]Wendy[/name]
[name]Sharon[/name] (called [name]Sherry[/name])
[name]Crystal[/name] x2
[name]Mary[/name]
[name]Barbara[/name] (called [name]Barb[/name])
[name]Linda[/name] x2
[name]Jennifer[/name]
[name]Kris[/name]
[name]Kelly[/name]
[name]Cathy[/name] (sometimes called [name]Cat[/name])
[name]Ashley[/name]
[name]Morgan[/name]
[name]Candice[/name]
[name]Cari[/name]
[name]Christina[/name]
Wifina (pronounced whiff-eena)
Achina (pronounced ah-cheena)
Most interesting to me is [name]Christina[/name], Wifina and Achina (affectionately referred to as “The Eenas”) are all related and from [name]Hawaii[/name].
I work at a sandwich shop for my second job. A good majority of my co-workers there are high school aged, but some are my age or older. Some of there names are:
Women:
[name]Krista[/name]
[name]Janette[/name]
Lakiesha
Stav (which is Hebrew for [name]Autumn[/name], she’s from [name]Israel[/name])
[name]Brenda[/name] (x2)
[name]Megan[/name] (x2)
Gulan
[name]Lisa[/name]
[name]Katie[/name]
[name]Karen[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] (nn [name]Charley[/name])
Men:
[name]Cornelius[/name] (I thought this was awesome. He’s in his 20’s)
[name]Tyler[/name]
[name]James[/name] (x2)
[name]Ted[/name] (not sure what it’s short for, if anything)
[name]Michael[/name]
[name]Devin[/name]
[name]Ralph[/name]
[name]William[/name] (nn [name]Bill[/name])
[name]Emerson[/name] (seriously! He’s in his 30’s)
So we do have quite a few boring names but some interesting ones too. I don’t remember everyone’s names atm lol I didn’t get much sleep and I’m sick.
I just quit my job a couple of months ago to stay home, but I worked with the most amazing mix of people ages 18 to mix 60’s. This list won’t even begin to cover the massive crew, but:
I think Stav is nice. I also like [name]Israel[/name] as a name for either gender. It doesn’t seem to girly but nor does it seem to be very masculine. Somewhere in between I 'spose.
I have also worked in a University part-time for a while and there are hundreds of professors, staff members and maintanance workers so I don’t know all of their names. These ages range from mid 20’s up to late 60’s
I can’t remember most of the people I’ve worked with!
But I do remember when I used to work in an Italian restaurant that my boss was called [name]Lesley[/name], and her dad was called [name]Leslie[/name]!! [name]Both[/name] known as ‘[name]Les[/name]’.
