I love names that have an earthy unisex feel. That being said we’re stumped on baby #2. I love the feel of [name_u]Colbie[/name_u] [name_u]Finch[/name_u] but unsure of spelling.
Our other option is to honor dh’s mom whose middle was [name_f]Ann[/name_f].
I hate to be the first poster and negative but I’m really not a fan of [name_u]Colbie[/name_u], sorry. I do love [name_u]Finch[/name_u] as the mn though - or even [name_u]Scout[/name_u]!
I like lots of [name_f]Ann[/name_f] derivatives but they’re not generally unisex. However, some I really like that seem quite “earthy” and aren’t too frilly are:
[name_f]Anneli[/name_f]
[name_f]Annick[/name_f]
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] or [name_f]Anneke[/name_f]
[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]
[name_f]Anya[/name_f]
[name_f]Hanne[/name_f]
[name_u]Marian[/name_u] or [name_u]Marion[/name_u]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]
I don’t love [name_u]Colbie[/name_u]/[name_u]Colby[/name_u] – it’s in the category of names for me that seem used more often for pets than people, and it reminds me of colby cheese. But it’s definitely usable, and I prefer the [name_u]Colby[/name_u] spelling because -ie seems too much like a nickname.
I really like [name_u]Colbie[/name_u] on a girl - with this spelling. I think its sweet and quirky, but I would definitely opt to use a more feminine middle name!
