Colin or James?

I have posted before, but the name game continues. My husband and I had pretty much decided on [name]James[/name] [name]Robert[/name] until I realized it might be a bit hard to say with our last name that starts with “S”. I don’t know how I didn’t realize this before, pregnancy brain I guess. I feel in love with the nickname [name]Jamie[/name].

My husband now likes [name]Colin[/name] (which I had suggested a while back and he said “no”) and I love it. I think [name]Colin[/name] [name]Robert[/name] is a nice strong name. I like that in the US it is not in the top 100, so it is somewhat uncommon but not made up. I also think it goes well with our daughter’s name, [name]Taylor[/name]. I am a little concerned people will make [name]James[/name] [name]Taylor[/name] (popular American singer) references if we name him [name]James[/name].

I know it is a personal preference, but which one would you choose with the above factors? We might have to wait and see when he comes. People say you know when you see the baby, but I am not so sure since they all come out a little squished.

Thanks, Mom to be again in 2 weeks!

I love the name [name]Colin[/name] [name]Robert[/name], what a great name. [name]James[/name] is a good name too, but I like [name]Colin[/name] [name]Robert[/name] better.

[name]James[/name] is a great name, but [name]Colin[/name] is also very handsome and I think in your circumstances might be the way to go. I don’t think either the S surname or the [name]James[/name] [name]Taylor[/name] thing is enough to be truly bad, but they are enough to be given consideration. Considering you also are happy about the lower popularity of [name]Colin[/name], you sound set. [name]Colin[/name] [name]Robert[/name] is very handsome! All best!

I love [name]Collin[/name] [name]Robert[/name]! [name]James[/name] is nice but a little blah to me, but if you really love it I would not worry about the S surname or the the [name]James[/name] [name]Taylor[/name], I don’t even know who that is and I live in [name]America[/name]!

I like them both but [name]Collin[/name] [name]Robert[/name] just really has something special about it

Change it from [name]James[/name] to [name]Jamison[/name] and you have the problem solved! I also think that [name]Jamison[/name] is BRILLIANT with [name]Taylor[/name].

[name]Colin[/name] is hopeless I wouldn’t go near [name]Colin[/name].

Best wishes and hope your little [name]Jamison[/name] [name]Robert[/name] S nn [name]Jamie[/name] is going to be your final choice.

rollo

[name]Taylor[/name] and [name]James[/name] would immediately remind me of [name]James[/name] [name]Taylor[/name]! I think [name]Colin[/name] [name]Robert[/name] is a really nice name, I would definitely choose this one. [name]Taylor[/name] and [name]Colin[/name] sounds really cute!

I much prefer [name]Colin[/name] to [name]James[/name]. [name]James[/name] is so popular anyway; [name]James[/name] and [name]Taylor[/name] would make me think of [name]James[/name] [name]Taylor[/name] (love his music); and [name]Colin[/name] [name]Robert[/name] ties so well together because of the lovely O sounds. It makes me think of the [name]Secret[/name] Garden, which is such a sweet read. Best of luck!

I love, love, love the name [name]Colin[/name] but sadly, my dh does not. So [name]Colin[/name] gets my vote for sure.

[name]James[/name] is just okay. I do like the suggestion of [name]Jamison[/name], which is very cool and handsome, but also very long so you would probably call him [name]Jamie[/name] all the time, which is fine but I still don’t like it as much as [name]Colin[/name].

So for me, [name]Colin[/name] [name]Robert[/name] is perf!

I would add an L to [name]Colin[/name] to make it [name]Collin[/name]. With 1 L it reminds me of the anatomical “[name]Colon[/name]” a bit too much. I agree with the poster who threw out [name]Jameson[/name]. I like [name]Jaime[/name]/[name]Jamie[/name] as well!
