Color names that DON'T make you think of the color?

Some names like Scarlett are too reminiscent of the actual color, but some (often ones more commonly associated with nature) like Violet and Hazel don’t always make you immediately think of the color. What are some of these names you can think of?

Lavender, Marigold and Lilac are technically colors, but the flower associations are much stronger

Not quite a color, but [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] is a red stone but it makes me think of green for some reason.

Most traditional “colour” names I don’t actually associate with their colour. [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_u]Jasper[/name_u], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Jade[/name_f], [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], [name_f]Amber[/name_f], [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Emerald[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], ect… However, if it’s a less traditional colour name or plant/flower name, I do associate it with its accompanying colour i.e. [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_u]Cobalt[/name_u], [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f], [name_f]Lilac[/name_f], [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f], [name_f]Peridot[/name_f], [name_u]Azure[/name_u], [name_u]Hyacinth[/name_u], ect…

I always forget that [name_f]Olive[/name_f] is a colour

I have this same imagery with [name_u]Jasper[/name_u]. I always think green and never red.

I consider [name_f]Honey[/name_f] at least 50% a color name but most other people don’t at all.

[name_u]Sage[/name_u] is a colour name as well, but I don’t associate it with the colour.

I also agree with [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Honey[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Jade[/name_f], [name_u]Jasper[/name_u], and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] :relaxed:

jade! and my one of my favorite names is navy so for me i don’t think of the color right away

Scarlett actually doesn’t make me think of the color for some reason. I think because the first thing I think of is the fact that I don’t like the name. :sweat_smile:
