  • Persephone Annabelle Rain : 6 (33%)
  • Persephone Anouk Rain : 5 (28%)
  • Persephone Anouk …different 3rd name… : 5 (28%)
  • Neither… I have another Ann(a) name for you…: 2 (11%)

I do prefer [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] to [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] myself, especially when paired with [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]. I think that both [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] & [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] are zesty, punchy names, while [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], though nice, is sweet, traditional and frilly. Also, the sheer length of [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] (plus another middle) is perhaps a bit too much overall. That said, [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_u]Rain[/name_u] does have a nice flow (but if hubby really isn’t a fan, finding an An- name that he does would be best, I think).

[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] sounds great, however, the addition of [name_u]Rain[/name_u] definitely throws the flow out for me, and somewhat lessens that awesome spunk that [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] has going for her. [name_u]Rain[/name_u] also looks kind of ‘filler’ next to [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Anouk[/name_f], too, however as I now see [name_f]Grace[/name_f] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f] also in your combos as second middles (which can often be seen as ‘filler’ names to some), perhaps that short traditional classic is something you adore/has importance to you, in which case they’re not ‘filler’ at all.

Therefore, my vote went to [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Anouk[/name_f]…different 3rd name… I think for you, a short, spunky and less expected name would work well as third, like [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f] or [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. The flow is hard when it comes to placing something after [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] though, as [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] and her -k does seem to sound very final.

I absolutely adore [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Anouk[/name_f]. It has meaningful ties to your family and heritage, a distinctive mood, and style galore. However, I tend to be with the previous poster: [name_u]Rain[/name_u] throws me off a little bit. For another “r” name, I adore [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u], [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_u]Raven[/name_u], [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f], and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_u]Robin[/name_u]. If you seek a nature name as a second middle, I love [name_f]Meadow[/name_f], [name_f]Clover[/name_f], [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], [name_f]Nova[/name_f], and [name_f]Fawn[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] with [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]! I don’t dislike [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_u]Rain[/name_u] but [name_u]Rain[/name_u] does feel a touch out of place. If you absolutely adore it don’t let that stop you though.

As polls go the results tend to skew toward the fastest name option, which would be [name_f]Anabelle[/name_f]. But I think [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] not only works better but works more successfully to honor your family.

Thank you for this thoughtful reply. I do agree with you on most points!

  • [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is very frilly… I like feminine names, but not super girly-girl names (if that makes sense), and I feel like [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is crossing that line the more I look at it.
  • [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is really looong, yes… that’s one thing that made me question it!
  • I would like to have a nature/floral/animal name in most of our combos to tie them together and for the wonderful meanings.
  • [name_u]Rain[/name_u] does have a bit of clunk here, which is sad because I love it, but I would probably prefer a clunk-free combo.

I really love the suggestion of [name_u]Wren[/name_u]! That has been a middle name contender for a few different combinations, but hasn’t stood out with any yet. It would be perfect here as [name_u]Blue[/name_u] Wrens are my Mum’s favourite bird. Might try this combo out in my sig for a bit and see how it wears…

Thank you for these gorgeous suggestions! I love Nova, but hubby put it in the “pet name only” barrel haha. I also quite like Rowan (we prefer the Rohan spelling though). Some great ideas to ponder here!

“Fastest name option”?? As in, one that doesn’t need much thinking about / is more common?? Sorry… just don’t quite follow what you mean.
