Hey ladies,
So we’ve decided to start TTC in 2018. I stopped taking the pill a few months ago (in [name_f]May[/name_f], I believe). I’ve heard that your periods should return completely after 2-3 months but I’m yet to get mine. (TMI) We’ve been using condoms and the pull out method, so I’m not sure if I should take a test…I know I should probably see a doctor and I’ve already scheduled my appointment but I was wondering if anyone had been in a similar situation. Is it okay?
I didn’t get my period for a few months after having my IUD out. I took a few tests because we weren’t being careful. If it gives you peace of mind I always say test, I just buy 4-5 of the 88 cent ones from walmart to have just in case!
The pill has a longer recovery time than most other contraceptives, and the rate of return to normal fertility is very varied from woman to woman.
If taking a test will ease your mind, then do so.
The likelihood is that your body is still adjusting - especially if you were on contraceptives for a extended period of time.
Thank you both so much! Ugh, I know I should take a test but I’m too chicken…I’m afraid to get a positive, you know? In fact I have a bunch of tests in the bathroom cabinet so I might pluck my courage and test tomorrow just to make sure… Thanks once again!
A close friend of mine did not have her period return for almost a year after being on the pill for several years. Dollar store tests are a great thing! Good that you are seeing your doctor!
