We are starting to TTC this month. We have one son, [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u], nn [name_u]Jem[/name_u].
The first go round we were lost with boys names as well. For a girl we had been set on [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. And if it’s a girl this time, it will still be [name_f]Cora[/name_f]! But I have a gut feeling we will end up with another boy. And if that is the case, we are in trouble.
I love Classic names with a trendy edge. Maybe slightly hipster, but more on the safe side? Let’s say… Bohemian classics. If that isn’t a contradiction… Lol. I also like connections to literature.
My husband is a surfer and loves more ‘out there’ names. But at the same time, some ofI his names aren’t out there at all. Honestly I don’t think he has a ‘style’. But he likes…
We both sort of like/agree on [name_u]Flynn[/name_u], but we aren’t in love with it.
I swear I have been through every single name with him. [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] was a name I loved more than him, and it just grew on him over time. I cried over the fact that he wouldn’t let me use [name_u]Noah[/name_u], and so I think that’s when he caved to [name_u]Jameson[/name_u]! Basically- we are a tough case!
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m] is the first name that came to me. Has the literature ([name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]) connection for you and the c/k/ck that his names have. Or maybe [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]'s middle name [name_m]Barclay[/name_m])
Thank you guys! I don’t mind [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] but DH would only use it if his nickname was [name_m]Ike[/name_m], and I just can’t do [name_m]Ike[/name_m]! Not a huge fan of [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] either.
I like your style. I like [name_u]Finn[/name_u] with [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] but I feel like a longer form like [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m]/[name_m]Finnian[/name_m]/[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] nn [name_u]Finn[/name_u] would work even better. I love [name_u]Flynn[/name_u].
You have some really nice names on your list. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Tennyson[/name_m], [name_m]Merrick[/name_m], and [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], in that order! [name_u]Noah[/name_u] is so popular that he may be [name_u]Noah[/name_u] __ (initial) in school, but if you aren’t bothered by that, it is a nice name. Other suggestions…
[name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] is very handsome! My issue with [name_m]Declan[/name_m] (we almost used it for or first) is that when I told the name to family, everyone said it sounded like something else. Declaw, deck him, etc. So I’m just not too sure.
I love Howthorne. I think [name_u]Jem[/name_u] and [name_m]Hawk[/name_m] would be awesome together. But DH won’t cave to it- I’ve been trying for a long time! I also like [name_m]Griffin[/name_m], but anothe big no from DH.
Well since [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] was more your name I think you should go with [name_m]Declan[/name_m]. That is fair (considering that [name_m]Declan[/name_m] is a nice enough name). On your list I guess liam is the best but I prefer [name_m]Declan[/name_m] to it. but I can’t stand your husbands other choices, sorry! Actually they remind me of my own husbands boy name ideas which I also dislike :(…
What about…
Riker
[name_u]Dakota[/name_u] nn Kota
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]
[name_m]Pike[/name_m]
[name_m]Huxley[/name_m]
[name_m]Kent[/name_m]
[name_m]Hawk[/name_m] would be such a cool nickname but alas. [name_m]Whittaker[/name_m]? I like [name_u]Jem[/name_u] & [name_u]Whit[/name_u] together. [name_m]Nickelby[/name_m], [name_m]Chadwick[/name_m], [name_m]Cedric[/name_m], [name_m]Cormac[/name_m], [name_m]Buckley[/name_m], Buckmimster, [name_m]Dirk[/name_m], [name_m]Kirk[/name_m],
My first thought was [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], nn [name_m]Ike[/name_m] as one of the previous posters mentioned. Maybe you could compromise and use [name_m]Ike[/name_m] as an around the house nickname?
Looking at my signature, I forgot to mention [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] and [name_u]Rory[/name_u]! I love love love [name_u]Rory[/name_u] but DH only likes it on a girl, and my mom can’t pronounce the two r sounds in succession for some reason. And DH recently vetoed [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]!
[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] sounds great with both [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] and [name_u]Jem[/name_u]! Does your husband like it? In my opinion, it sounds a bit hip and surfer-y in addition to being “bohemian classic”
