So my fiance’s last name sounds like “lukes.” Does [name]Lila[/name] [name]Lukes[/name] sound ridiculous? What about [name]Lily[/name] [name]Lukes[/name]? We love both names, but are not sure if they are usable with his last name. We need some objective opinions! Thank you!
I think the problem is both names have double Ls in them. I don’t mind alliteration names, but I think in those cases there is so much L that it sounds a bit silly.
Yeah I think there’s definitely too much L in it. It sounds like a cartoon to me. There’s actually a comic strip (but French) with a character names [name]Lucky[/name] [name]Luke[/name] and it’s all I could think of. Alliteration doesn’t always bother me, but neither [name]Lila[/name] nor [name]Lily[/name] work for me here. Maybe it’s as the pp mentioned - it’s the double L in the first name plus the last name that pushes it over the edge.
