Confused with how it’s pronounced

Hello all

I like [name_f]Fayre[/name_f] but I have no idea how it’s pronounced. I tried google it but it wasn’t a big help. Any ideas?

Because it’s a variation of [name_f]Farrah[/name_f], I would assume it’s pronounced something very close, like fay-ruh.

I’d say the same as @itsjustjack

At first glance, I would pronounce it the same as “fair”.

What language is it from?

Not sure. According to Nameberry it’s a variation of [name_f]Farrah[/name_f] which is Arabic.

Thanks! Not a big fan of the rah ending so propably I would put it off my list.

I’d probably say fay-ruh because of the similar name Feyre (also fay-ruh).

The Nameberry database isn’t particularly accurate when it comes to Arabic names so I would be skeptical. Unless there are more reliable sources to back it up. I can’t find any examples of Arab women with this name online.

I’ve only heard fay-ruh.

I’ve never seen this name before but as it is spelled like the word fayre I’d instinctively pronounce it the same (like “fair”)

I would say [name_f]Fay[/name_f]-ruh, but thats because I’ve read the A [name_m]Court[/name_m] of Thorns and Roses series and the main character is named Feyre with that pronunciation.
