I wouldn’t mind using them as first names, but I’m struggling to come up with good names for possible siblings. It might not be a problem for you, but I would fret endlessly if I couldn’t find a good sibset!
I like [name]Connemara[/name]! It’s really pretty. I think it could work as a first or middle name. [name]Mara[/name] is a pretty nn too.
I see the appeal of both! [name]Connemara[/name] is on my own list as a middle name as its a smoosh of sorts of my mother in law’s and my mother’s name. But just from sound alone I probably like [name]Caledonia[/name] a little more. [name]Callie[/name] and [name]Mara[/name] are both nice nicknames, just so distant in feel! [name]Callie[/name] for [name]Caledonia[/name] is a little more intuitive. So maybe I like that one a touch more.
[name]Connemara[/name]! What a fabulous name. It seems perfect for your family. Why not use it up front? After all, it sounds like a smoosh of two well-known names – [name]Connie[/name] and [name]Mara[/name] – so I doubt you’d get too many blank looks or double-takes.
I love [name]Connemara[/name]. It has echoes of other beautiful names ([name]Constance[/name], [name]Mara[/name]) in it and it also evokes the beautiful landscapes of the district in [name]Ireland[/name]. Has cute nicknames [name]Mara[/name] and [name]Connie[/name]. [name]Don[/name]'t really like [name]Caledonia[/name]. Makes me think of a calzone.
[name]Love[/name] that there is so much love for [name]Connemara[/name]!! and a bit shocked! I think i almost expected to be slated… I’ve never heard it on a person before but I do think its such a pretty name and such a pretty place! Anyone else got any thoughts on either as a first name! in regards to siblings…i think they make the perfect sibset 
I voted for [name]Connemara[/name] but I would use it as a quirky middle name choice.
I love the sound of [name]Connemara[/name], but I can’t escape the image of the [name]Connemara[/name] Pony. Maybe this isn’t an issue for anyone else, but it does make me like the name less. [name]Caledonia[/name] evokes a lovely landscape, so I chose that by default.
Neither are my style, but I went for [name]Connemara[/name], because [name]Caledonia[/name] makes me think of the Scottish soccer team Inverness Caledonian Thistle (the team my Scottish penpal supports).
I would have to say I would only use them in a mn spot, they are not my style as a first name. I live in [name]Scotland[/name] though, and DH is Irish so that may be why, it would probably be an unusual choice here.
Would you consider a Scottish or Irish first name if you put those in a MN spot?

I like [name]Calla[/name] as a nn but voted for [name]Connemara[/name] because I like that better as a full name. [name]Connie[/name] is a cute nn for [name]Connemara[/name].
