What do you think? Is it too dated?
I knew a [name]Connie[/name] growing up who hated her name because it was so nicknamey.
I know a lovely, beautiful [name]Constance[/name] NN [name]Connie[/name].
I love the old fashioned “ie” nicknames as full names. [name]Connie[/name] is so cute. Although it comes off as slightly dated compared to [name]Hattie[/name] or [name]Lottie[/name], I still think its usable! I would pair it with a timeless, all-girl middle name…
[name]Connie[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] *
[name]Connie[/name] [name]Isabel[/name]
[name]Connie[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Connie[/name] [name]Olivia[/name]
[name]Connie[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Connie[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Connie[/name] [name]Julia[/name]
[name]Connie[/name] [name]Therese[/name]
I was thinking about this one as a nickname a few days ago and think it’s really sweet. I probably wouldn’t do it on its own but there’s nothing wrong with it. I like it especially for [name]Constance[/name], [name]Constanza[/name], [name]Constantina[/name], or [name]Concetta[/name].
Yes it’s too dated and NO it should not make a comeback
It seems bluesparrow is on a roll with some very strong opinions today.
I like [name]Connie[/name] more as a nickname for a fuller name. I don’t recall ever meeting a [name]Connie[/name] which is probably why I don’t see it as too dated.
The [name]Connie[/name]'s I know are all in the 45-60 age range. So [name]Connie[/name] to me is dated in the category like [name]Donna[/name], [name]Linda[/name] and [name]Janet[/name]. Not terrible names, but maybe not quite old enough dated group (like [name]Hattie[/name] and [name]Lottie[/name]) to make the comeback yet. Give them another 20 to 40 years.
I love it! I could never use it because it rhymes with my last name. I think [name]Connie[/name] is in the jackpot category - refreshing because it’s not one of the new trendy made up names; and it will stand out because there won’t be tons in her little kindergarten class! I love the vintage names and nicknames coming back, but so does everyone. So even if we think we are “different” by choosing [name]Lottie[/name], [name]Hattie[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name] and so on… we aren’t! There will be lots of kids with these vintage names, so using a “dated,” not quite “classic” name like [name]Connie[/name] will really stand out. I do agree that maybe [name]Constance[/name] nn [name]Connie[/name] would be nicer for the birth certificate. But on the other hand, if you’re only ever gonna call her [name]Connie[/name]- then why not just [name]Connie[/name]?
I really love the name [name]Connie[/name], it’s a cute vintage name. I like [name]Connie[/name] as a nickname, but I wouldn’t use it on it’s own. I like [name]Corinne[/name] and [name]Constance[/name] as formal names.
Yes, it’s awfully dated; but I could see it making a comeback much more than others of that era ([name]Donna[/name], [name]Linda[/name], and their ilk).
I think it is a little too early for [name]Connie[/name] to be a vintage comeback:)
I have a really good friend named [name]Constance[/name] nn [name]Connie[/name], in her late 20s so it doesn’t seem dated to me at all
This was what I was more looking forward! Haha. [name]Love[/name] getting reassurance.
I think it would be nice if used as a nickname for [name]Constance[/name] or other longer form. On its own I think it’s a bit nicknamey (and a longer full name makes it less dated [name]IMO[/name]).
I personally wouldn’t use it, but I think it would make a great nickname for [name]Constance[/name]. I don’t associate it with a certain age group so I think it’s wearable at any age.
I like [name]Connie[/name], but not as a full name.
I am from the [name]Debbie[/name], [name]Donna[/name], [name]Linda[/name] era myself being born in the 50’s
I like the idea of [name]Connie[/name], especially as a nn but even as a fn.
[name]Don[/name]'t worry about anything being “dated.” After all, the names I was thinking of for my babies back in the 80’s are now in the top ten! Everyone was horrified when I mentioned [name]Jacob[/name] for my son in 1984 and [name]Emma[/name] for my daughter in 1986.
Think of yourself as a trendsetter! Go for what you love.
