I am considering using [name]Anastasia[/name], and was wondering what you think of the name? also what do you think of [name]Anya[/name] as a nn?
It’s a beautiful name, though forever linked to [name]Anastasia[/name] Nikolaevna of [name]Russia[/name], Tsar Nikolay II daughter. Also [name]Ivan[/name] the Terrible’s wife… I feel it’s a very heavy name, a lot of grim history. But it means resurrection, and that’s interesting.
I don’t like [name]Anya[/name] as a nick name. Now, I don’t like nick names at all really, but [name]Anastasia[/name]'s got beautiful [name]Ana[/name] or [name]Stasia[/name], so much lovelier.
I’ve always thought [name]Anastasia[/name] was very pretty. But like ottilie, I’ve always asociated it with the late Grand Duchess. It does have a heavy association, but it’s still goregous. I think [name]Anya[/name] is great for a nickname, a fresh option.

It’s beautiful, dignified and formal. It’s a very important name to the world’s ‘Greek Christians,’ so the Greeks, Slavs, & [name]Christian[/name] Arabs give it very regularly.
It is a very pretty name. The only thing that turned me off from it was the book 50 Shades of [name]Grey[/name]. I think the name has the potential to become very popular and trendy. If that doesn’t bother you, then I would go for it.
I think its gorgeous! Not in the top 1000 but still fairly familiar. And [name]Anya[/name] is so cute as a nickname. [name]Love[/name] it!
Also the Main Character in the Fifty Shades series.
I like name, but as mentioned, it’s a heavy name with grim history. I don’t think I’d use it.
[name]Anya[/name] is lovely however, but I’d think you watched the 20th Century [name]Fox[/name] movie if you used that combo of [name]Anastasia[/name] nn [name]Anya[/name].
Yeah, I thought about fifty shades, but that fad book series will be left in the dust in five years.

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Anastasia[/name]… it’s one of my favorite names and I wouldn’t hesitate to use it if people wouldn’t think of Fifty Shades of [name]Grey[/name] (my entire family and most of my friends do, so it’s out for me).
I think [name]Anastasia[/name] is a fresh choice. I’m a fan of [name]Ana[/name] as a nn but, [name]Anya[/name] is great too.
