I really like [name]Locke[/name] (I don’t associate it with Lost despite watching the show, I associate it with the character’s namesake philosopher). [name]Basil[/name] and [name]Rufus[/name] would be amazing for someone else’s child. [name]Eben[/name] and [name]Gable[/name] are interesting. Not a fan of the rest.
Not keen on most of the girls’ names either, to be honest. [name]Thessaly[/name] and [name]Coral[/name] would be ok.
[name]Gable[/name]-- I prefer [name]Clark[/name], but I like that it sounds masculine
[name]Raleigh[/name]-- sounds feminine to me, can’t help but think of the city in [name]North[/name] [name]Carolina[/name]
[name]Fenix[/name]-- sorry, can’t stand the F and wouldn’t like [name]Pheonix[/name] any better
[name]Dewey[/name]-- sorry, but not a fan. Had a neighbor with this name, hard to imagine a child with it
[name]Eben[/name]-- had a great-grandfather with this name pronounced “Eh-ben”, met someone once with this name, pronounced “Ee-ben”. Like it!
[name]Tate[/name]-- not my favorite, but not sure why
[name]Rigel[/name]-- wounds like what a worm does-- wriggle
[name]Locke[/name]-- sounds very “Lost”
[name]Basil[/name]-- maybe for a cartoon character, but can’t imagine a little boy with this name
[name]Rufus[/name]-- rhymes with dufus…
[name]Hale[/name]-- I like this one!
[name]Thessaly[/name]-- I don’t mind the sound of it, but I never would have guessed how to spell it
Dulia-- sounds like dulah
[name]Gem[/name]-- I just read a book with this as a boy name…
[name]Coral[/name]-- this is pretty
[name]Fawn[/name]-- sounds nice, but it makes me think of a baby deer
[name]Henley[/name]-- sounds more masculine than feminine and it’s a style of shirt
[name]Emory[/name]-- nice
[name]Darcy[/name]-- my favorite of your girl names!
Katterli (saw this on movie credits the other day and was interested)-- hm…
[name]Geneva[/name]-- sounds nice, but a little stuffy
Kestral-- not sure what to think of this one
[name]Gable[/name]- supercute with nn [name]Gabe[/name] (reminds me of [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables)
[name]Fenix[/name]- I know a little boy with this name (and this spelling) and I think it’s adorable
[name]Rigel[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name], as I’ve only recently starting considering it. Definite mn status!
[name]Locke[/name]- I am a fan of this, and I also like the suggestion of Lachlen nn [name]Locke[/name]
[name]Gem[/name]- cute, could also use [name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Coral[/name]- I love this, it’s on my list with nn [name]Cora[/name]
[name]Emory[/name]- I prefer it spelled like [name]Emery[/name], but plenty of cute “girlie” nn options like [name]Emmy[/name]
Kestral- very interesting! I’m not completely sure of my opinion on this yet but would love to hear nn’s for it! [name]Kessie[/name]?
[name]Gable[/name] - I like it! I can see “gay” teasing a bit of a risk though : (. [name]Abel[/name] is similar and I like that too.
[name]Raleigh[/name] - I knew a guy named [name]Raleigh[/name]! I love it!
[name]Fenix[/name] - It will be forever heard as [name]Felix[/name], spelled as [name]Phoenix[/name], and maybe heard as penis : (.
[name]Dewey[/name] - the decimal system? Dewy lips? I can’t get behind it.
[name]Eben[/name] - I like it!
[name]Tate[/name] - this is honestly close to the word taint, nonetheless I do kind of see the appeal.
[name]Rigel[/name] - where have I seen this before? It’s like a star name or something? While it’s kind of cool, I don’t really think it works.
[name]Locke[/name] - actually very cool in sound and philosopher. I just wonder about the -e getting spelled and the assumption he’s a [name]Lachlan[/name].
[name]Basil[/name] - might be due for a comeback?
[name]Rufus[/name] - a secret guilty pleasure, I think it’s a great name but it does rhyme with dufus.
[name]Hale[/name] - and hearty. It has appeal! Fits in with the long a trend but stands out.
[name]Thessaly[/name] - love this! So beautiful!
Dulia - too dull. I do like [name]Tullia[/name] though…less so [name]Tulia[/name], bizarrely.
[name]Gem[/name] - too literal and simple for me and in my accent is very close to [name]Jim[/name]. But I think it works enough.
[name]Coral[/name] - very pretty and I like it but I do think it will be heard as [name]Cora[/name] and it does rhyme with oral.
[name]Fawn[/name] - I like it but it is kind of a sexualized name, I don’t think people would assume she was intelligent.
[name]Henley[/name] - of the Eagles? the shirt style? This is very masculine sounding to me and the word ‘hen’ is unfortunate. I can see the trend of [name]Kinley[/name] and [name]Hadley[/name] and all picking up on this though.
[name]Emory[/name] - yeah, emory board and the university and did you say [name]Emily[/name]?
[name]Darcy[/name] - I like it!
Katterli (saw this on movie credits the other day and was interested) - too difficult.
[name]Geneva[/name] - beautiful!
Kestral - kind of intriguing but hard to pull off.
[name]Gable[/name]- [name]Clark[/name] gable. It is nice, NMS though.
[name]Raleigh[/name]- NMS
[name]Fenix[/name]- NMS
[name]Dewey[/name]- Interesting, I don’t have an opinion on it yet. Never seen anyone consider this for a name before.
[name]Eben[/name]- Cute
[name]Tate[/name]- Another cute name
[name]Rigel[/name]- NMS
[name]Locke[/name]- NMS
[name]Basil[/name]- Nice and old-fashioned
[name]Rufus[/name]- [name]Love[/name] this. My husband didn’t like this, which made me sad.
[name]Hale[/name]- I have an ex with this as a surname, and he was a very horrible person so very bad associations with this. Nice meaning though.
[name]Thessaly[/name]- This is also interesting, but I think I like [name]Cecily[/name] more. They would be pronounced the same right?
Dulia- NMS, but it is okay. It reminds me of a Doula, even though they probably don’t sound the same.
[name]Gem[/name]- Cute, but too short for me
[name]Coral[/name]- Nice, I like the color
[name]Fawn[/name]- Cute, but for me it is very young sounding. I like names that sound older I guess, but [name]Fawn[/name] isn’t bad. It would be a bold, cute choice.
[name]Henley[/name]- NMS
[name]Emory[/name]- NMS on a girl, probably because it is my son’s name. It does have a feminine sound and I am hearing it more for girls now so she will fit in.
[name]Darcy[/name]- Cute, reminds me of P&P and the movie [name]Thor[/name] with one of the girls named [name]Darcy[/name].
Katterli (saw this on movie credits the other day and was interested)- Interesting, but NMS. It would be different by far.
[name]Geneva[/name]- [name]Love[/name] this, but I am biased since this is my great grandmother’s name and she was very special in my life. She died last year and I would love to use this. I hope it doesn’t get very popular because I love this a lot.
Kestral- NMS
[name]Favorite[/name] boys are [name]Eben[/name], [name]Tate[/name], [name]Basil[/name] and [name]Rufus[/name]. [name]Favorite[/name] girls are [name]Geneva[/name] and [name]Coral[/name].
While I wouldn’t use any of them for the first name spot, as a middle name I would consider:
[name]Gable[/name], [name]Raleigh[/name], [name]Locke[/name] and [name]Hale[/name] for boys and [name]Geneva[/name] for a girl.
Some of my odd middle choices are:
Boys:
Evergreen, Nightingale, [name]North[/name], [name]Knight[/name], [name]Fox[/name]/Fawkes and [name]Hawk[/name].
Girls:
[name]Neige[/name], [name]Alouette[/name], [name]Neve[/name], [name]Nava[/name] and [name]Selah[/name].
I really like [name]Gable[/name], [name]Dewey[/name], [name]Tate[/name], [name]Thessaly[/name], [name]Coral[/name] and [name]Geneva[/name], but I really dislike the rest. [name]Hale[/name] is ok.
