Constance: ready for revival?

What do you guys think, is [name_f]Constance[/name_f] ready for revival or still stuck in her puritan vibe?

Big sister is named [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] (occasionally called [name_f]Evie[/name_f])

I honestly don’t think [name_f]Constance[/name_f] is ready. It’s still very stiff and gives off that “covered in mothballs” feeling for me, and it seems even more stuffy next to big sister [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f].

Eh not really honestly. It feels so serious. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is so beautiful, [name_f]Constance[/name_f] doesn’t match up in my opinion.

I don’t think so

I agree that [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Constance[/name_f] don’t match up, but I like [name_f]Constance[/name_f] as a middle name. I don’t love [name_u]Connie[/name_u] as a nn either, but I could see it as a middle.

I like it…

No, sorry. I think [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] pulls off being pretty and traditional but [name_f]Constance[/name_f] sounds harsh and not spunky either, just old fashioned x

I think so. I really liked it after hearing it on [name_f]Constance[/name_f] in an adaptation of the Three Musketeers, and I loved the feisty, adventurous, strong willed personality she gave to the name, so I don’t get much of a stiff and serious Puritan vibe from it. It’s not all that unpopular where I live (UK, top 300). It might be one you have to hear on a person to start to like. I do think it goes well with [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Evie[/name_f]’; I can definitely imagine [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Evie[/name_f]’ and [name_f]Constance[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Tansy[/name_f]’ or ‘[name_f]Annie[/name_f]’ (something along those lines) as sisters.

Yes! I love sweet sweet [name_f]Constance[/name_f]. She’s been a consistent on my list for the past 5 years.

I actually really like [name_f]Constance[/name_f]!

I like [name_f]Constance[/name_f] too. She fits in with [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f], and [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] in my opinion. Less so with [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], but totally not a deal breaker to me. My sister and my names are not at all the same in style, and I think we put too much emphasis on matching rather than naming the kid the name they’re meant to have. I’m less a fan of [name_u]Connie[/name_u] or [name_u]Stacy[/name_u] as nicknames, but [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Tansy[/name_f], and [name_f]Nance[/name_f] are interesting.

Yes, absolutely!
[name_u]Leslie[/name_u]

I prefer [name_f]Constance[/name_f] as a middle name. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is gorgeous in my opinion, and I feel like [name_f]Constance[/name_f] sounds a bit stiff and underwhelming next to a [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f].

I think this is true. It’s still not really my style, but it’s grown on me since I started watching the sitcom Fresh Off the Boat and became familiar with the actress [name_f]Constance[/name_f] Wu. I think of her now when I hear the name, so “stiff” and “stuffy” don’t spring to mind.

I love the name [name_f]Constance[/name_f]! Especially with a nn like [name_f]Annie[/name_f] or [name_f]Cece[/name_f] I feel like it could definitely work
