Constant

Usable? What do you think of it, and what would you pair with it?

Sounds more like a word than a name to me. It also seems like it might put pressure on a kid to “constantly” do/be something. I also see a lot of teasing potential… I think [name]Constantine[/name] would be a WONDERFUL substitution and maybe you could call him [name]Constant[/name] every once in a while as a NN.

I agree with PP, it would be better as a nn for something like [name]Constantine[/name].

I think it works. I particularly like the dictionary definitions of “faithful; unswerving in love and devotion” and “steadfast; firm in mind and purpose; resolute.” However, I could easily see it becoming “he’s [name]Constant[/name] noise” or “he’s Constantly annoying.”

[name]Constant[/name] would be unexpected and cool as a middle name. I get a Puritan vibe from it so I automatically want to pair it with Biblical names. [name]Elijah[/name] [name]Constant[/name], [name]Joshua[/name] [name]Constant[/name], [name]Michael[/name] [name]Constant[/name], [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Constant[/name], [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Constant[/name], etc.

I would never use it because it reminds me of the girl’s name [name]Constance[/name]. But I agree with the [name]Constantine[/name] suggestion! Only as a mn though. [name]Imagine[/name] the poor child trying desperately to learn how to spell his 11 letter fn in kindergarten.

I think it would depend on where you live, I have known a male [name]Constant[/name] but that was in [name]France[/name] where the name is more acceptable for men, if teasing wasnt an issue I would say go for it.

[name]Constantine[/name] seems feminine to me, I like [name]Constantin[/name] or [name]Constantino[/name] better for a boy.
