[name]Hi[/name] again guys. Sorry to be such a nuisance, but I keep coming across new names and changing my mind about which names I want in my top three!
My husband recently offered the name [name]Constantine[/name] with the nickname [name]Costa[/name] or Costas and I really liked it! We both like/want an ancient and strong sounding name for our son and this fits that description to a tee! But does it go with one of our possible future names for a girl- [name]Clementine[/name] for example? Keep in mind that I pronounce them differently- constan teen and clemen tine.
What do you guys think? Please help me find the best sibling set! some other names we like include:
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name] (but obviously not with [name]Constantine[/name])
[name]Amelie[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Saoirse[/name] (sare-shuh)
[name]Geneva[/name]/[name]Genevra[/name]
Other boy names:
[name]Rohan[/name]
[name]Ronan[/name]
[name]Atticus[/name]
[name]Roman[/name]
[name]Caius[/name]
Thank you guys so much! This process is so stressful!
I love both names, and actually think that they would work fine together. [name]Costa[/name] is ADORABLE for a little boy. [name]Just[/name] remember that this would be starting a “name trend” - just in case you plan to have a 3rd child.
From your list, I like:
[name]Adelaide[/name] (would be lovely with [name]Clementine[/name]!)
[name]Evangeline[/name] (doesn’t go with [name]Constantine[/name] or [name]Clementine[/name], though, not in my opinion)
[name]Genevra[/name] (I love this with [name]Constantine[/name] and [name]Clementine[/name])
[name]Caius[/name] (Good old [name]Roman[/name] name! Not so great with [name]Costa[/name] though - a bit close).
[name]Rohan[/name] reminds me way too much of [name]Lord[/name] of the Rings.
I’m a huge fan of [name]Constantine[/name] and [name]Clementine[/name], though - go for it!
Sorry, but I think [name]Constantine[/name] and [name]Clementine[/name] are a bit too close for comfort. Not only do they share the -tine ending, but they both start with ‘C,’ have 10 letters each, and refer to similar virtues-constancy and clemency. Far too bookend-ish for my taste.
I really want to like [name]Constantine[/name] and [name]Clementine[/name] but I just don’t. I think they are too close. I don’t want to discourage you from using [name]Clementine[/name] though! I would use [name]Clementine[/name] in a heartbeat if DH didn’t say no I think [name]Clementine[/name] goes better with your other name choices than [name]Constantine[/name] does. I think I just prefer [name]Ronan[/name], [name]Atticus[/name], [name]Roman[/name], and [name]Caius[/name] over [name]Constantine[/name].
[name]Clementine[/name] would be a great sister for:
[name]Amelie[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Geneva[/name]/[name]Genevra[/name]
[name]Ronan[/name]
[name]Atticus[/name]
[name]Roman[/name]
[name]Caius[/name]
[name]Costa[/name]/s is really cute but not so much that a guy couldn’t work it…I love it! but NOT with [name]Clementine[/name] (which is another great name) that just doesn’t need to happen…
sisters of Costas would maybe fall under an ancient roman/greek category, because it would be weird if you introduced them as “[name]Constantine[/name] and…[name]Alice[/name]” I’ll try to think of some nicknames as cute as Costas
[name]Abelia[/name]-[name]Bel[/name], [name]Lia[/name], [name]Elia[/name]
[name]Adela[/name]-[name]Addie[/name], [name]Adele[/name], [name]Elle[/name]
[name]Alexia[/name](I knew a girl at school who had this name, she was really pretty in a regal sort of way and it suited her perfectly)-[name]Lex[/name] is the only one that isn’t too been there done that.
[name]Livia[/name]-[name]Liv[/name], Livi, [name]Ivy[/name],
[name]Helena[/name]-[name]Nell[/name], [name]Lena[/name], [name]Elle[/name]
[name]Gia[/name](would be really cute as a contrast with the more long [name]Constantine[/name])-G (i have always wanted to have a daughter I simply called G, as if we were the most casual and close of friends)
Wow, i must be getting old…sorry for that slightly lame list (ok, more than slightly lame)
