Convince me of why your top favorite for a boy and girl are the best names out there! Lists just aren’t seeming to help. I scan them, reject them, move on. I need some reasoning behind things! So I figured if you berries could convince me of WHY your favorites are your favorites, maybe I will find a few favorites of my own!
[name]Gwen[/name] - means pure/white/blessed, [name]Gwendolen[/name] has the option of [name]Wendy[/name] which I like. It’s uncommon in my area but still very pretty and recognizable. What I don’t like about it is that it starts with a G (not my favorite letter to write) and it only sounds so so with our surname.
[name]Noelle[/name] - I love the meaning ([name]Christmas[/name]) and the feel it gives me. I don’t like that it is spelled [name]Noel[/name] by many people in my area and that it has the word “no” in it. Not sure if it would work on someone not born around [name]Christmas[/name].
[name]Livy[/name] - this name just gives me a lovely tingly feeling, I just think it’s so pretty. What I don’t like is that it almost necessarily requires a longer name ([name]Olivia[/name], [name]Livia[/name], [name]Livinia[/name], etc) and I’m not sure I love any of them, though I do like them.
[name]Eve[/name] - I love that it’s simple and straightforward, I like the meaning and history. I like that it’s uncommon but recognizable.
[name]Bennett[/name]/[name]Benedict[/name] - I love the meaning. [name]Ben[/name] has been a favorite of mine since childhood. Not sure if it’s too trendy.
[name]Darius[/name] - love the meaning, love the nn Dare, love the history. Not sure if it’s too weird.
[name]Eli[/name] - same as [name]Eve[/name] for being simple and having a nice meaning. Not sure if I’d feel the need for a longer version.
[name]Leo[/name] - like the meaning. Like the simplicity. Nothing I really don’t like about it except maybe that it sometimes comes from [name]Leonard[/name] which I don’t like so much.
[name]Pax[/name] [name]Alexios[/name] means ‘peace’ ‘defender of men’ … both good and strong!
Girls
[name]Helena[/name] – Not only is she reportedly the most beautiful woman in history, but the name means torch/fire/light. The vowels are all long and soft, with the N at the end to give it just a touch of edge. It flows beautifully when you say it because of the L, and is gloriously feminine.
[name]Valentine[/name] – Similar to [name]Helena[/name] in the beginning, but a sharper point at the end. Means love. It just sounds so sweet, and I can imagine it perfectly on a little girl or on an adult.
[name]Gloria[/name] – Means glory, makes me think of the word glow, so I find the name luminescent. I also find it musical, due to the abundance of Latin/religious music with this word. The O sounds very cool in this name, actually making the ‘oh’ sound. An unrevived classic.
Boys
Dashiel – I always come back to this name. I think that the nickname [name]Dash[/name] is awesome, and the second syllable has a neat sound. Like shield, or shell depending on how you say it. It’s just cool. I like it with one L, because two Ls feels feminine to me and doesn’t actually affect the pronunciation.
I don’t have many consistent favorites for boys… ha…
[name]Katharine[/name]: meaning: pure, I have always loved this particular spelling of [name]Katharine[/name] because it seems distinctive and sophisticated (while still allowing for the adorable nns [name]Kate[/name] and [name]Rin[/name]!
[name]Sophia[/name]: meaning: wisdom. I don’t care how popular this name is-I will always love it! I think it is simply beautiful.
[name]Elisabeth[/name]: another long-time favorite which I like not only for the solid and pretty name that it is but for its abundance of nicknames ([name]Beth[/name], [name]Ellie[/name], [name]Elsie[/name], [name]Lissie[/name], etc.)
[name]Annemarie[/name]: My favorite two-part name, which I love all the more because it honors the [name]Mary[/name] our Blessed Mother AND her mother in one!
[name]Violet[/name]: something about this name appeals to me-maybe that it can be very cute on a little girl while still being able to grow up with her. It also strikes me as sweet but spunky
[name]Susannah[/name]: I love that this name is less popular, and I love the sunny sound it has. I much prefer it to [name]Hannah[/name] as well.
[name]Fiona[/name]: I have a weakness for Irish names–it’s my dream to marry an red-haired Irish guy haha!
[name]Brigid[/name]: ditto [name]Fiona[/name], plus the nns Bridy and Brideen and [name]Biddy[/name]
[name]Eowyn[/name]: my guilty-pleasure name. I’m a LOTR freak and I [name]LOVE[/name] this name but could never use it, sadly
[name]William[/name]: just about my only consistent favorite for boys. I love that it is handsome and strong without being “buff.”
For Girls:
[name]Victoria[/name] - means victory. This is such a strong name yet it sounds so feminine.
[name]Esperance[/name] - This name sort of slips off the tongue.
Kousa (pn: cole-saw) - Kousa is a type of flower. I think it sounds a lot prettier than [name]Katniss[/name].
Photini - I [name]LOVE[/name] GREEK NAMES. They’re so pretty and elaborate. This name means ‘light’ which is cool.
Wynnafreede (pn: win-a-freed) - I heard it off of an old movie and loved it ever since.
[name]Pearl[/name] - This is an older name, for sure, but I [name]LOVE[/name] it for middle name.
For Boys:
[name]Zayden[/name] - [name]Even[/name] though it is in the ‘[name]Aiden[/name]’ clan, I love how it sounds and Z names catch my interest instantly.
[name]Gabriel[/name] - This name belongs to an arch angel which makes it super cool. Biblical names are always really special to use.
Oleksander - This is a knock off of [name]Alexander[/name] yet it means defender of mankind which is badass.
My favorite names are my kids names:) [name]Bennett[/name], and [name]Annabelle[/name]. The reasons I love them are:
They have nice meanings
They are farmiliar, but are uncoomon (at least in my area - I dont know any others)
They are full names that lend themselves to nice nn’s
My favorite girls name right now is [name]Gemma[/name], which I think would fit my sibset for a future baby girl…it means “precious stone”, and I would love to have a little “[name]Gem[/name]” running around! It has the farmiliarity of [name]Emma[/name], but a little more uncommon.
I don’t do well with boys names, always have a hard time finding ones I like. Right now I am liking [name]Arlen[/name], [name]Arden[/name], [name]Arlo[/name], just based on the sounds of the names. I also like [name]Milo[/name], [name]Rhys[/name], and [name]Finn[/name] - again, primaily for thier sounds! [name]Don[/name]'t know if I would actually use any of them if I had to name a baby right now!
[name]Augusta[/name] [name]Lee[/name] had a thread a little while back called A Few of Your [name]Favorite[/name] Names, and people listed their favourites and why they loved them. Might be of some inspiration?
I love too many names, but I will tell you why we chose our daughter’s names.
[name]Aphrodite[/name]: Greek [name]Goddess[/name]. I’ve always loved myths, and I’ve got a masters degree in Classics, so I spent a great deal of my twenties reading and writing and thinking about Greek mythology. She’s the [name]Goddess[/name] of love and beauty, and she was strong and didn’t let men define her, but she didn’t shy away either. She’s the object of several of my favourite paintings and a planet (even though it’s got her Latin name).
[name]Marian[/name]: [name]Robin[/name] Hood was one of my favourite stories growing up (and still is!). Maid [name]Marian[/name] is cool, strong and funny, and I love how she’s been portrayed in movies. It feels very English and medieval. I love how it’s related to the ocean, and it’s got musical associations for me as well.
Illyria: The country [name]Viola[/name] comes to after the shipwreck in [name]Shakespeare[/name]'s Twelfth [name]Night[/name], which is my favourite [name]Shakespeare[/name] play. It’s also an ancient region in Macedonia where my husband’s got some ancestors from (way back). I love how it rolls of the tongue, you need to smile when you say Illyria.
There’s only one I feel I can really say I love and defend it.
I love the name [name]Abbott[/name] ever since I first read it. There was something different about it. About a week after discovering it, I had a dream about a story on TV about a little boy in [name]Texas[/name] that was orphaned after a tornado hit his home. His name was [name]Abbott[/name]. I was so touched by the story, that I went down to [name]Texas[/name] and adopted the child.
After that, I’ve just loved the name.
[name]Melchior[/name]: This is such an awesome name! It means [name]King[/name], and I feel it fits it’s meaning perfectly.
[name]Eulalie[/name]: Such a pretty name. Especially written out (though it’s a tad of a tongue twister). And the nickname [name]Lula[/name]!
A definite plus to both of these is that they’re both saint’s names.
Wow, what an invitation! I have so many favorites…I really could make up short lists in several ‘styles’. I’ll just list a few in no particular order.
Girls:
[name]Tabitha[/name]–I love the rhythm. I love that it has a sort of formal sound, yet has the playful ‘[name]Tabi[/name]’ beginning. I love that I’ve never known a [name]Tabitha[/name], yet it’s familiar. I’m at a total loss as to why it isn’t used more.
[name]Tess[/name]–Fell in love with [name]Tess[/name] of the D’Urbervilles when I was 14. Was sure that I would give my daughter this name. Then I married a man with lots of sibilants in his last name. I love the simplicity and the romance.
[name]Phoebe[/name]–my top Greek name. Again, it’s formal and playful at the same time. I love “Feebs” as a pet name.
[name]Eleanor[/name]-- best of the classics. It’s lyrical and has dignity and history. Plus, you can get to [name]Nell[/name], [name]Ellie[/name], [name]Nora[/name]…
[name]Linnea[/name]–I am not generally a fan of super-girly names. But this one is graceful and soft without being froufrou. It’s not in the Top 1000, yet is totally accessible.
[name]Sabrina[/name]–there’s just something so bright about this name that I can’t imagine a [name]Sabrina[/name] who wouldn’t fully embrace life. Soft beginning and end, but that “bree” middle gives it life.
[name]Susannah[/name]–She’s a prairie girl. She’s Biblical. [name]Shakespeare[/name] liked it enough to use it on a real daughter! I understand that [name]Sue[/name] and [name]Susan[/name] are a bit dated, but who cares? The full name is wonderful…soft, yet substantial. Not in the Top 1000? Amazing.
[name]Eowyn[/name]–my guilty pleasure. I wish lots of intrepid LOTR fans would start using it so it would become a bit more mainstream. It starts somewhat regally, like [name]Eleanor[/name], but then finishes with a soft, feminine sound.
[name]Greer[/name]–one off my one-syllable list. Unusual, yet easy. Sounds terribly sophisticated to me.
Boys:
[name]Peter[/name]–has it all. Crisp, bright sound. It’s strong, yet cuddly. Has a long history, yet sounds modern. Instantly familiar, yet not encountered in the U.S. all that often. And think of the associations: [name]Peter[/name] [name]Pan[/name], Penvensie and Rabbit. [name]Peter[/name] the Great. St. [name]Peter[/name].
[name]Leo[/name]–love the simplicity and the quirkiness of the ‘o’ ending.
[name]Sullivan[/name] and [name]Tolliver[/name]–love these surnames…they just seem…jaunty. And warm and friendly. And [name]Sully[/name] and Tolly are great nns.
[name]Kai[/name]–Again, bright and cheerful. I also like the slight exotic feel of the name.
[name]Gideon[/name]–a favorite Biblical name. I like the rhythm of this one. I like that it has the hard consonants sounds but doesn’t sound harsh.
[name]Calvin[/name] and [name]Gordon[/name]–grandpa names that need to be revived. They sound like strong, all-boy names without high testosterone. I suppose [name]Calvin[/name] appeals because of [name]Calvin[/name] and [name]Hobbes[/name]…[name]Gordon[/name] just seems so friendly and open.
[name]Tristan[/name] and [name]Tarquin[/name]…I’m a sucker for anything medieval. I like the crisp two-syllable sounds of these two.
[name]Luca[/name]…is just so darned cool. It sidesteps the [name]Lucifer[/name] overtones of [name]Lucian[/name] and [name]Lucius[/name], as well as the cowboy sound of [name]Lucas[/name]/[name]Luke[/name]. Sounds totally modern while keeping the ancient credibility.
[name]Wyatt[/name]…nothing wrong with cowboys, and this name has swagger and refinement at the same time. Also love the slightly quirky Wy beginning.
I love this prompt so much I bookmarked it to answer when I had time. And now I do.
[name]Sylvie[/name] – Oh, I love [name]Sylvie[/name]. She’s familiar but not overused, a truly international name. Silvery and ethereal, sweet and elegant, [name]Sylvie[/name] was the first girls’ name I really fell in love with. [name]Sylvie[/name] has been in my Top 5 for as long as I’ve had a Top 5, and if I have a daughter [name]Sylvie[/name] will be the name to beat.
[name]Jane[/name] – [name]Jane[/name] is perfect. Historical, literary, simple and utterly gorgeous. If I could rename myself, I would choose [name]Jane[/name].
[name]Marigold[/name] – A glowing choice for a summer child. [name]Marigold[/name] shines, sparkles, scintillates; [name]Marigold[/name] is flamboyant, ostentatious, artistic. I love [name]Marigold[/name] with the down-to-earth nickname [name]Maggie[/name].
[name]Eloise[/name] – Like [name]Sylvie[/name], a perennial favorite (though [name]Eloise[/name]'s star is rising much faster than [name]Sylvie[/name]'s). Lotar and [name]Louis[/name] are family names, and I absolutely love the connection to the children’s book character. [name]Eloise[/name] also comes with the spunky short-form [name]Louie[/name].
[name]Juniper[/name] – [name]Ah[/name], [name]Juniper[/name]! A botanical name that’s mellow and sassy, with a fabulous sound and that oh-so-important (to me) connection to children’s literature. Like [name]Eloise[/name], [name]Juniper[/name] is sadly getting popular fast, so I’m clearly not the only one who appreciates her charms!
[name]Matilda[/name] – Fusty and feisty! ‘[name]Matilda[/name]’ is one of my favorite books, and now that I have a good friend called [name]Tilly[/name] I have even more affection for this name.
[name]Iris[/name] – To me, [name]Iris[/name] and [name]Jane[/name] seem are the perfect pair. [name]Both[/name] subtle, elegant, worldly names, gorgeous in their simplicity. [name]Iris[/name] is a goddess and a flower. I also love the association with the rainbow: as a queer person, this symbol is very significant.
[name]Marlowe[/name] – I go back and forth on which gender this name is best used on. Right now I’m feeling [name]Marlowe[/name] for a boy and [name]Marlo[/name] for a girl. Regardless of whether I use it on a son or a daughter, [name]Marlowe[/name]'s one I can absolutely see putting on the birth certificate. [name]Marlowe[/name] combines everything I love in a name: it begins with an M, ends with an o-, and has a great deal of literary and personal significance.
[name]Roscoe[/name] – Vintage and modern at once, a rockstar name with a cool, bouncy sound. I can’t understand why Rosoe isn’t more popular, though I’ll certainly be happy if it stays rare! [name]Roscoe[/name] is one of those names that makes me look forward to having kids. I would love to have a little [name]Roscoe[/name] (and a medium-sized [name]Roscoe[/name], and a big [name]Roscoe[/name] – I think this is a name that will age beautifully).
[name]Atlas[/name] – Hefty with mythological significance but light on the tongue, [name]Atlas[/name] strikes the perfect balance. I love the crisp sound and connotation of superhuman strength. [name]Even[/name] the association with books and maps appeals to me!
[name]Simon[/name] – [name]Simon[/name] is jaunty and versatile, a scholar and a traveler. [name]Simon[/name] is distinctive and underused, but still a name anyone could make their own. Like [name]Roscoe[/name], I can really see this one growing as my son does.
[name]Wallace[/name] – When I imagine a little boy named [name]Wallace[/name], I think of a kid with flyaway hair and big glasses like his mom’s. [name]Wallace[/name] is dashing and scholarly, and I love the connection to [name]William[/name] [name]Wallace[/name], the Scottish freedom fighter. Plus the comic book character from [name]Scott[/name] Pilgrim vs. the World is pretty badass.
My two top names crushes haven’t been on my list for very long, but I feel very strongly about them both.
[name]Eira[/name] - Welsh for snow. I love nature names and this name is absolutely a breath of fresh air for me! It has the crisp, bright feeling of a sunny winter day to me, and makes me think of all my favorite winter memories. I think it’s absolutely stunning and would love to use it in the middle spot of a future babe if my SO agrees!
[name]Gale[/name] - As in a gale of wind. Nature-y and strong. Despite [name]Gail[/name]/[name]Gayle[/name]/[name]Abigail[/name] all being feminine, [name]Gale[/name] is purely masculine to me. I think I would probably use him in the middle spot as well, but I’m just so smitten with this strong and earthy name!
Longstanding favourites:
[name]Wren[/name]- It is so pretty and the bird is so sweet and small. It has a beautiful call but can also stay silent. The sounds of this name are so soft and flowing although not a tongue-twister like other names. I also [name]LOVE[/name] the association with wings and flying because I hope someday I will be able to have a pair of wings [far future]. It gives me hope for freedom and escapism and this is why I [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Wren[/name]. [name]Just[/name] say it a few times and stretch your little birdy arms out as wings and you will see my pleasure.
[name]Samson[/name]- I do not have a very good case for this but it sounds good, solid and strong. It has the bonus of the nickname [name]Sam[/name] but stands apart from other names. It has biblical associations and gives the child the option of blending in or being a real individual.
[name]Julia[/name]-I just [name]LOVE[/name] the imagery I get with this name. It is lovely multicoloured, liquidy type ribbons with a large amount of turquoise. This name has many benefits like [name]Samson[/name] as it can blend in, stand out but sounds strong. Classical. Ancient roots. Saintly connections. [name]Simplicity[/name] but strong. Plus the nn [name]Jules[/name] which is awesome.
Boys-
[name]Samson[/name]- it’s my absolute favorite. I just love it. It sounds great on a little toddler and a grown man and I just think its so handsome. [name]Don[/name]'t think I can ever use it since it doesn’t go well with my daughters name but I have and will love it forever.
[name]Milo[/name]- it’s so playful and cute and I can really see it on a little tan brown eyed boy.
Girls-
[name]Indiana[/name]- obviously I love it because I named my daughter this. I know it doesn’t get a lot of love on here. But It’s beautiful and strong and has endless nickname possibilities. ([name]Indie[/name], [name]Anna[/name], [name]Diana[/name], di etc)
[name]Leila[/name]- so pretty and feminine and just rolls off the tongue
@4815162342:
I don’t know if this helps any, but I think [name]Indiana[/name] and [name]Samson[/name] are pretty perfect together!
For girls I like
[name]Ziva[/name], [name]Sorcha[/name] (I do not pronounce it properly, I say Sorsha) and [name]Chaya[/name] for all the same reason. They are slightly exotic without being too far out there.
My other name is [name]Marie[/name]. My grandmother asked why no one named a child after her and I said [name]Myrtle[/name]? She said she always went by her middle [name]Marie[/name]. Over the years since she passed I find I am liking the name more and more.
For boys my top runner for the last few years has been [name]Elijah[/name], I like the NN’s for it [name]Eli[/name] or [name]Lige[/name] and I how it sounds. Nice solid manly name
Next would be [name]Luther[/name]. An old fashioned name (to me, who is old LOL) Again [name]Manly[/name] and strong. I also like the nn [name]Lou[/name] for my DH [name]Louie[/name].
[name]Jemima[/name] - my daughter’s name. It’s biblical, from the book of [name]Job[/name]. I had 7 long years between sticky pregnancies, so it felt like I had been put through what [name]Job[/name] had at times, with my multiple miscarriages. It’s also soft, gentle, and has history for me via a late friend of the family. Her great-… uncle was [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Boone[/name]. [name]One[/name] of [name]Daniel[/name]'s daughters was named [name]Jemima[/name]. She and two friends were kidnapped, and their rescue became the inspiration for [name]James[/name] Fenimore [name]Cooper[/name]'s Last of the Mohicans.
[name]Natalie[/name] - Mimey’s middle name - fun, sparkly, spunky, classic.
[name]Jessica[/name] - again, fun, sparkly, spunky - my older daughter’s first name.
[name]Alexandra[/name] - defender of mankind - and a classic to offset the fun first name. It has history to it, as well, which was important. I love Russian history, so my dh was not surprised to see [name]Nicholas[/name], [name]Alexander[/name] and [name]Alexandra[/name] on my list
For boys: [name]Ezra[/name], [name]Jonah[/name], [name]Judah[/name], [name]Joshua[/name] - I love biblical names, and these end in a soft sound, which is not the case with most boys names.
I also like [name]Theodore[/name], [name]Nicholas[/name], [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Timothy[/name] - all are strong, classic and have history to them.
[name]Susan[/name]
I’m just going to put a few random ones from the list…
Girls
[name]Indiana[/name] - Well, 4815162342, said it all about the strength of the name and the nickname potential, but for me, I just love the imagery that comes up. [name]Indiana[/name] just seems like that strong elegant lady everyone likes and tries to imitate, but she also has that secret desire for adventure.
[name]Cassia[/name] - This name just sounds so pretty to me, either pronunciation. It has almost a [name]Secret[/name] Garden-like feel to it. Also, it’s not super weird, since essentially, it looks like [name]Cassi/name with an ‘a’ at the end.
[name]Adair[/name] - I find this name very feminine and filled with a wild spirit. I can easily see her with [name]Scout[/name] [name]Finch[/name]'s personality. It’s just so energy-filled and a touch of seriousness at the same time.
[name]Genevieve[/name] - She’s my Confirmation saint and has quite a nice story. I just love the nickname [name]Evie[/name], and [name]Genevieve[/name] is such a graceful way to get it.
[name]Georgina[/name] - This name is just super fun and sunny to me. I think [name]Georgina[/name] pairs perfectly with a little girl in a sundress and hat. I think [name]Georgina[/name] is also very refreshing from the slightly more clunkier [name]Georgia[/name] and [name]Georgiana[/name].
Boys
[name]Benjamin[/name]/[name]Benedict[/name] - I just adore the nickname [name]Ben[/name], and both names have totally different vibes. [name]Benjamin[/name] is more relaxed and a sporty boy, while [name]Benedict[/name] is the polite and proper doctor or lawyer.
[name]Nathaniel[/name] - I’ve always loved this name, and I like the nickname possibilities. For me, I like [name]Nathan[/name] the best. I just see a [name]Nathaniel[/name] as a very traditional and old school man who treats everyone with respect, while [name]Nathan[/name] is the athletic one who still manages impressive grades.
[name]Jack[/name] - I think just about every personality could fit this name. But for me, I associate [name]Jack[/name] the most with [name]Leonardo[/name] Dicaprio’s [name]Jack[/name] from Titanic.
[name]Dominic[/name] - This name just has a quirky feel to it, yet maintains a somewhat classic status. I think [name]Dom[/name] is super cute and love the fact that the name ends with a ‘c’, which is unusual.
Girls
[name]Maeve[/name]: It’s short and sweet but with more oomph than say [name]Sue[/name]. Beautiful but not frilly. I was born in [name]May[/name] so it has that connection to me. You do have the choice of the cute nn of [name]May[/name] or [name]Maisie[/name] but [name]Maeve[/name] doesn’t need it. I love that it is Irish since my heritage is mostly Irish and my last name is very Irish as is my SO’s. I love the meaning, “the cause of great joy” or “she who intoxicates.” I like mythical connection the name has. It is said by some that she was a goddess before men made her a mere mortal. It is said to be in her favor brings good fortune. [name]Queen[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] was strong, fierce, and beautiful.
[name]Juliana[/name]: It’s elegant and graceful. It’s cute when little but stylish when older. It has some great nicknames that would fit a wide range of personalities: [name]Julie[/name], [name]Jules[/name], [name]Ana[/name], [name]Anna[/name], [name]Annie[/name], [name]Liana[/name], [name]Lia[/name], and [name]Uli[/name]. For me it is a way to honor three different relatives that all have an “[name]Anne[/name]” name associated with them. It has connection to two family members that are born in [name]July[/name]. It’s a well known name but not too popular.
Other Favorites: [name]Emmeline[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Cleo[/name], [name]Eve[/name], and [name]Anya[/name]/[name]Aine[/name].
Boys
[name]Lucas[/name]/[name]Lucian[/name]/[name]Lucan[/name]: Oh, how I have long loved [name]Lucas[/name]. It has the masculine nickname [name]Luke[/name]. I am a huge science fiction fan and I feel that it is well connected to that. You have [name]Luke[/name] from [name]Star[/name] Wars and [name]Lucian[/name] of Samosata, sometimes considered the father of science fiction. [name]Lucian[/name] reminds me of werewolves because of the Underworld movies. Loving the meaning of light, as a boy with this name would surely light up my life. [name]Lucan[/name] I would use if I really wanted the Irish connection. If I ever get a chance to name a boy I would have a hard time deciding which of these three to use but I’m pretty sure it would be the versatile [name]Lucas[/name].
[name]Flynn[/name]: Another Irish name here, love it! I really like that this is an easygoing and straight forward name like [name]Luke[/name]. Weirdly enough I also like it’s meaning, “son of a red-haired one”. Now my SO is not a red-head, but he has the freckles that they usually have. My dog’s name is [name]Rufus[/name] which means red-head so that connection is also kinda cute. I really like that it isn’t very popular. I can see this on a child and then on a man. I feel this name could work well for an artist (which we are)/designer, a business man, an athlete, or whatever.
[name]James[/name]: Already taken by a family member but this name to me is the best classic name out there. It is a name of kings and commoners, of presidents and actors. I picture a rugged [name]James[/name] [name]Dean[/name] and swoon, I also love [name]Dean[/name] (haha).
Other favorites: [name]Jude[/name]/[name]Judas[/name], [name]Ian[/name], [name]Isaac[/name], [name]Wyatt[/name], [name]Dean[/name], [name]Leo[/name], and [name]Henry[/name].
